VOTE: Time Warp HOF Ballot 1952

1936 Initial Ballot Results, 1937 Results, 1938 Results, 1939 Results, 1940 Results,
1941 Results, 1942 Results, 1943 Results, 1944 Results, 1945 Results,
1946 Results, 1947 Results, 1948 Results, 1949 Results, 1950 Results
1951 Results

Two players were elected to the RL HOF by the BBWAA in 1952: Harry Heilmann and Paul Waner.

All players who received at least 5% of votes on the last ballot were retained for this ballot. I also added players who became eligible for the ballot in 1952 (retired after 1946 season).

All players not receiving 5% of votes on this ballot will be removed. Also, all players who have been retired for 20 years fall off this ballot if not elected.

Vote for as many or as few as you want. Max votes are 10.

HOF Standard: 50 is considered an average HOF'er. 100 is max.

Check out the career top 25's for Kinnear and Misisca. I think these guys are getting shafted. Heck, Misisca's the #2 HR hitter of all time! They both hit HR and doubles, plus among the best ever for RBI. I realize the Tigers had a great offense but never really did much except for 1 WS, but you can't blame that on these guys. The team NEVER had good pitching.

If the first few votes are any indication, several players may get in because everyone's made 10 votes so far.

It is a very deep field this year. The two players that you mention are competing against five guys that hit over 3000 hits and five 300 game winners. That's some stiff compettiion right there IMO

True... I guess it's equally possible to have several guys get 60-70% and just miss out.

I'm really glad to see Bussell getting support. I was afreaid he'd be overlooked.

And while I'm on the subject, I think Dave Arkless is quite underrated too.

True. I felt there were better in this field but he does make a very strong case

Vancini should get unanimous entry. I have very high standards for the HOF, and in TWB, 3,000 is not necessarily a good enough benchmark.

Personally, I feel this is very unfair. The other guys either are or aren't HoFers. Voting to give someone a "special" vote isn't fair to other worthy players. Especially if you fully intend to vote for a few of them next year. (or voted for some of them in the past)

Just my opinion, and John and I have gone round and round this with the VC votes before.
