VOTE: Time Warp HOF Ballot 1950

1936 Initial Ballot Results, 1937 Results, 1938 Results, 1939 Results, 1940 Results,
1941 Results, 1942 Results, 1943 Results, 1944 Results, 1945 Results,
1946 Results, 1947 Results, 1948 Results, 1949 Results

No players were elected to the RL HOF in 1950 by either the BBWAA or VC.

All players who received at least 5% of votes on the last ballot were retained for this ballot. I also added players who became eligible for the ballot in 1950 (retired after 1944 season).

All players not receiving 5% of votes on this ballot will be removed. Also, all players who have been retired for 20 years fall off this ballot if not elected.

Vote for as many or as few as you want. Max votes are 10.

HOF Standard: 50 is considered an average HOF'er. 100 is max.

I would like to point out that the highest HOF Standard score ever reached in TWB was 84 by the great Andrew Murphy. After him comes 78 by Ben "Rabbi" Baum. Woody Woodson was a 69, Whiskey Allen a 72 and Tim Lopresto a 74.

This year we have the 2nd highest score ever with Kid Fite's 81 followed by the 3rd highest ever in Jethro Lee's 80!!

I really wanted to vote for my great-uncle F.X., but this year's crop was too darn strong. Hopefully he'll make it to next year, or the VC. He is a prime example of someone who lost out due to the war....just like Wolter Tjeenk-Willink. He joined late (1944), but never came back, despite being only 34.

He was 19-12 with the 1933 WS winning Yanks before:

Injured on 9/2/1933 with a Ruptured Elbow Ligament, out for 4-5 weeks...

This is one of my pet OOTP (not directed at Matt) peeves.

I am tempted to vote for Terry Schukraft, but a certain Philly needs to make the argument for me. I do think he's a vastly better candidate than The Most Overrated Candidate In TWB HOF History - Willard Schwarz.

Art Booth is another close call. Like Schukraft he was an excellent pitcher on a great team. Artie at his best was better, but Schukraft was good for longer. Sort of two sides of the same coin. I think Luke Riley was a bit better than each of them, and the War cost him the ability to go past 300 wins like Terry. He was 36 when he headed off to war and never came back. Considering how far others pitched, and how they were able to age slowly, he's probably missing 50+ wins from his record.

PS: did I mention that Schwarz would be an embarassment in the HOF? Don't be fooled~!
