if you are using the option of auto expand...

if you are using the option of auto expand according to history it will change the team names at the end of the season, so if you uncheck that option then it will stop renaming them.

In the game setup you can erase all career stats, if that's what you are wanting. It will keep all the players but they will have no career stats. (someone with more knowledge correct me if I'm wrong)
