Don't bring the "you can play a fictional leage in Botswana" argument you'd waste your time, in 14 years I have never played fictional once since I'm an historical player.

Okay Ben Shapiro, given your expressed interest in playing this game, it sounds like adding women at all would be "useless" to you. For what it's worth, I would literally play if it was just women with stats and progression like men tbh (though that would hopefully be just a first step)

And attention mr facts over feelings, there IS data and people who the devs can consult on it as well

Also pretty big yikes you wanna RP a white supremacist league for historical purposes but really existing women's leagues are too niche and petty for your analytical purposes

I’ll take the over. It keeps getting mentioned, but off-topic purgatory hasn’t materialized. Frankly, this topic is QUITE on-topic, as it relates to general discussion of the game and its features (or in this case, lack thereof).

It would be quite disappointing to see it banished because a few people have such an obvious problem with a very reasonable, and long overdue suggestion.

Keep in mind also that Markus no longer owns OOTP, he is basically an employee of Com2us at this point. At least that's my understanding. Agreed, but the mods can be a little "trigger happy" sometimes when it comes to discord and controversy.

And ultimately, players coming out would no longer necessitate a storyline...they would simply be accepted as baseball players, by teammates and fans alike.

CB, didn't they lock/banish your study about personality traits and race/ethnicity back in the summer? They definitely seem to be a bit skittish at times with certain types of content.

I don't know... it looks like Markus in particular took the issue seriously enough to take a look at it, treat it not as a political issue but as a bug, and determined whether or not it was an actual issue or an artifact of randomness and a small sample size. The game algorithm certainly has no race-related aspect to generating personality but sometimes second-order issues can creep in (if the game makes more outfielder selfish and makes Black people outfielders more often, for example, then you might see more Black players who are selfish).

The fact that it was placed in that forum is a testament to how seriously the developers took the issue.

The vocal minority is out of control in this country. Thanks for bringing it to a game where most of us try to shut out the BS in the outside world.

The option to create women as staff or players should have happened already in this game. Kim Ng has been in the game for a few years and plenty of people in baseball knew she would get an opportunity as a GM or President of operations at some point. It shouldn't be that difficult to incorporate into the game.

Trans and everything else? No thanks. The .001% can find someone to make a mod for your playing preferences. No different than anyone else in the vast minority looking for something slightly different to alter the way they play.

Where adding women is on the priority list for Ootp is another topic

FWIW, I'm bisexual, and I would kind of like there to be a "coming out" storyline.
