Lightbulb Keep the Option to Not Have a DH

I hope that when baseball becomes totally stupid enough to put the DH in the National League, OOTP will keep this as an option for lovers of the real way baseball was meant to be played. Play with the DH if you like. But don't force me to. Please keep it as an option. Even if baseball puts the DH in 2017. Real baseball as we older fans know it, is coming to a sad end. And that is a shame.

OOTP allows you to use 15 man rosters. I have no idea why you think they'd force you to use the DH for a game that simulates all of baseball history, not just the present and future.

you don't have to use the DH if you don't want to...there is an option to turn it off for either league

You can have no DH or DH in both leagues, none, or just one of two.

all he was saying is don't change the option to have the DH or not in 17. i can see the offensive benefits (and extending player careers) - but Ron Bloomberg will remain a curse word in my vocabulary.

But there is no basis for such a feeling. Nothing like it has ever been suggested. Sounds like an excuse to rant. I like the DH and I like no DH and I'm an older fan but not part of any "we". Just like the OP we can all say what we like or dislike.

Also, please don't require all players to wear stiletto heels when they play.

It is true that nobody ever suggested that as a possibility, but I just wanted to go on record, just in case.

It's a core feature that won't change ever. No fear in that happening.

So a made up non-issue gets more posts.

I'm guilty of doing it too.

I'm not crazy but would like able to have both in same Lineup so like when a American League has to play in a NL Park like Ortiz won't have to be on Bench and if Red Sox also gave a good hitting Pitcher can bat.

Besides it not being "9 men, 9 innings, 3 PA per position" that people like me will cringe at, you know, it's not the worst idea in the world. No-DH fans get to keep most of what they like and DH fans get a DH. However, it seems to me that most DH fans hate seeing a pitcher hit more than they want a DH so you're not really solving that problem. And a lot of no-DH fans seem to believe that if you bat you must field as well so you're not really catering to them either. I wouldn't mind seeing it in OOTP, but I doubt you'd see many advocates for it IRL.
