Coming out of retirement
In view of recent developments involving Roger Clemens, it would be neat to have the occasional OOTP player come out of retirement... or maybe have a way of luring a recently retired player to come back and play for your team... just a thought...

I'd love this. It's been brought up a few times in the past, but maybe this'll be the year it makes it in the game.

Ya, it's a long-timer. I'd like to see it as well, but may not be easy to implement. The way retired.dat works currently (just by player additions) may need to be tweaked as to admit player submissions. Otherwise it'd give the same problems Pierre's utility encounters when unretiring a player (he stays in the retired.dat as well, thus duplicating players).

I think in order for a feature like this to work well in OOTP, there'd need to be more players retiring when they can still play. It has been my experience that players don't retire until they're worthless.

How about just not having guys retire when they can still play .....
Also, not too many guys ever really come outta retirement... Clemens didn't officially retire.. would be pretty wack to have guys like David Cone come back, and screw up a rotation...

Actually, the game does leave guys who could probably still contribute in the free agent pool for quite a while. Sometimes as long as two years, before they finally retire. You call that "retirement" if you wanted and then say "look who's back" if you're doing a dynasty report.
I dunno...I see the point, but also could see how hard it would be to do this the right way.
