AVG of Each Statistical Category
Is there a way to determine the average of any or all stat catagories found in OOTP?
So for example if I wanted to know what the avg. ERA is for 2022 in OOTP, where could I find this information? I feel like I should know this, but I am not sure if it exists!! |

Not sure if there is a way to do it within the game. But you could figure it out pretty easily with a text export.

perhaps this needs to go on the suggestion list...its a good way to gauge how your players are performing in relation to the rest of the league in any given year.

A rough guide I have used in the past is to pull up team batting/pitching stats and just look at where the middle of the pack is.

Main League Menu --> Statistics --> Team Statistics & Info --> Team Batting/Pitching/Fielding Statistics.
Below everything on this page is a Total line which will represent the League Average for any Rate stats. |

If you do not know these pages you will also enjoy the 'Team Finances' tab. |

As far as stats like BA, it does give you the league avg...along with OBP, OPS and SLG. |

It's not really needed, but I've sometimes calculated the min, max, and average off these #s. So I suppose it might be nice to get lines under the total doing the same thing.

You may be looking for something like the League Average Per X number of Plate Appearances, which you can pretty easily get using those Totals lines. |

There’s per 600 PAs of course but the game doesn’t calculate that automatically. You can of course do that by hand by printing the league totals to a file or programmatically via the CSV or SQL exports.

I use the MLB tab...then reports and info...then team stats.
If you scroll down to the very bottom the page...you will find many stats for batting, pitching and fielding for the entire league. You also have a few options to sort the stats into different format for viewing. It may not be everything you are looking for...but I use these as a good benchmark for my team and individual players vs. league wide averages. |
