Dealing With Rust With No Minors

How does the game deal with rust if the league has no minors?

Is rust disabled or are players coming back from lengthy injury forced to be at greater risk of injury?

Basically, I'm wondering if having minors are actually necessary to help prevent those long-term injuries resulting from no rehab assignments.

And what's the deal with airline food?

Seriously though, I have wondered this before and thought that either the rust was "turned off" or players just had to deal. Perhaps one of the devs would be kind enough to jump in and explain a bit about this conundrum?

btw...Seinfeld never actually used this line.

I don't think it affects teams with reserve rosters, but I have injuries so low I don't see it that often.

Yeh I think reserve rosters are set up so that development just happens at an average rate and the players are kept “on ice”, so no fatigue or rust.

Ive seen it the other way in my promotion/relegation league. Not playing players that are in my reserve roster not-so-quickly lose their touch and ability ratings throughout the year, especially if they don't play all year.

It could be my settings though....

Thanks to someone pointing me in the right direction, I found out rust is still in the game when there are no minors. You can see it in the players.csv that you get from the database screen.

I was in the process of analyzing it (there's some interesting stuff if you look at it closely enough), but I realized that with it definitely being there and with Markus himself saying it influences injuries there's really no need to go look into it further.

I'm going to ask that the devs make reserve rosters be able to host rehab assignments as I just don't think playing without minors is viable otherwise.
