At least they'll be able to go to Dick's Sporting Goods Park next year, so maybe that'll improve the attendance.
I noticed Colorado's attendence was appauling this season as well and meant to check into possible reasons why. Im hoping their just anticipating the new stadium, but still 4k for a playoff game is ridiculous.

As soon as they got one foreign club in, I knew this was going to happen. It'll be as bad as the S-League in Singapore. I mean the Los Angeles club IS the Galaxy, not some freaking loan team.
I try to be enthusiastic about MLS, and then they allow this junk to happen. I guess as soon they allowed Chivas in, they made their bed and now they have to sleep in it.

Whilst I don't think this will happen personally, as Glazer really isn't a soccer fan, it's not going to stop the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Club America etc. from trying either. I mean if they owned a team, built a stadium, and stacked it with local players like a youth academy that is fair enough, but seriously this is as bad as having an old-timer league.
Would Galaxy fans accept a name change to the inevitable "Manchester United USA"? Don't think so. And don't forget if Glazer was so interested in the sport he would have saved the Tampa Bay Mutiny from contraction. After all they played in his own stadium.

I'm sorry to rant, but I'm just annoyed.

dear god no.

I understand your arguments, but I dont see a team name in America being changed to a city in another country...unless oddly enough the played in cities with the same name (a la Birmingham, though that wouldnt happen). Chivas USA works only because Chivas means goats and isn't Guadalajara USA, which wouldn't work. Im completely against anything thats been brought up especially considering the Galaxy have arguably been the best side in league history along with DC United.

strangely, the average American sports riot is because they won the championship.

The last two I remember happened in Detroit.

now that he's sparked my memory...the Houston Oilers fans protested when they left town for Nashville to become the Titans (NFL), but I cant really remember anything in the last 16 years aside from that in terms of something an ownership group did. This country got its riots outta the way in the 60s and 70s.

while I agree in principle, I support the Florida Panthers and I think the last time it snowed in Miami was supposedly 1988, though I dont remember anything (I was 2, but my parents would have said something in reference to me seeing it the 800 times Ive said Ive never seen snow)...thus I must disagree. Hockey is actually popular with the upper middle class to affluent youth in this country, to a degree its akin to soccer in that regard, it has a following its just not a natural following if that makes sense.

I was an NL guy (no DH- Im still an NL guy) until recently when I basically stopped caring, but I wouldnt mind the DH being gotten rid of. I would be completely against adding the DH to the NL though.

I have no problem with field turf (we have the surface on our intramural fields here), but all astro-turf should be disposed of immediately.

But they've made their bed with the Mexican team, so I guess they've now got to sleep in it.

I thought they had learned from the NASL brilliantly - yet now they are willing to wreck everything. This junk wouldn't be permitted anywhere other than Wales and Singapore - hardly world class leagues that anyone outside those countries particularly care about. I want to be able to defend MLS, but they just seem intent on wrecking their fans.
give them some benefit of the doubt...it hasnt happened yet.
