Will take a peek next week

It would be great if the light and classic skin could have their own specific rating number colors.

For example, the yellow is too washed out and the blue is way too bright.

Am I on my own with this opinion?

The yellow is definitely hard to read, but I absolutely love the grey.

What controls the background color on this part of the screen? I'm using the light interface, and I've also tried reversing the team's colors in their settings, but I'm not sure why it's still dark. It makes seeing the team logo very difficult.

OOTP light or dark, you're going to have that dark background. You could change it to classic or create your own skin, which is time consuming but it might be worth it to you. Or maybe just change your logo so it isn't also dark.

I really like the light skin, but I guess I'll have to use classic. I just wouldn't feel right altering a historical logo just to make it play well with the game background.

Your teal skin is much better than any of the default options. But there are black boxes instead of ratings on my screen, I believe the yellow colored ratings in 0-100, which makes it unusable. Do you happen to know how I could fix this?

Thanks so much for your work!

That skin was only for OOTP23. I wouldn't use it for OOTP25. It might more or less work for OOTP25, but I'm sure some things have changed that would make it no longer look right. I only linked to the thread as it can serve as a guide to make your own.

As for the ratings bars, they changed with OOTP25. And I wasn't a fan of the changes. Previously you could drop in your own images of the ratings bars and you were good to go. Now you have to change a bunch of .cfg files. Maybe it's still possible to somehow use the image files, but I don't know how (the image files were better as you had more control over the different colours, 20 vs only 6, and it was easy to just drop them in vs searching for different files in different folders). To change the .cfg files, however, you need to search for files that include in their names "very_high", "high", "medium", "below_average", "low", and "very low". You then change the fg_colour in them to whatever you want. The "grid/entry..." file changes the ratings bars, the "table_cell/cell..." files change the colours of the rating numbers in tables, and the other files I'm not sure what they do, but I changed them too.

I uploaded my skin, OOTP Gentian, to the Steam Workshop. It's OOTP Light, but a brighter blue and with better coloured rating bars. If you like the ratings bars in OOTP Light and don't want them to change, don't bother with mine. Other than the ratings bars, it's not a big change like my OOTP23 Teal was. I highly recommend going to Settings and selecting "No..." for Semi-Transparent Background however as the background is too dark otherwise. OOTP Light seems to have the background disabled by default, but I couldn't figure out how to do it for OOTP Gentian. I even tried changing the opacity of the background files and even deleting them, but it was still dark without selecting that option.

Thanks for the advice kq76. I don't use steam. I will use your advice to try to modify your teal skin

Here's Gentian for those without Steam.

What version of the game are you playing? If you're playing OOTP25 you should really start with one of the OOTP25 skins and modify them. Trust me, working on skins is hard enough with the little to no documentation that there is. Working off an old skin that is not compatible with OOTP25 you're going to come across issues and have no hope of figuring your way around them. At least with an OOTP25 skin you should be able to think, "well, this should work, why doesn't it?".

What exactly do you want changed? If it's something simple like you just want to change a few colours or images, I or someone else can maybe do it for you. I just don't want to completely redo my OOTP23 teal skin because that was a tonne of image changes, which took several hours over several days, and those images have probably changed with OOTP25 so it's not like I could just plop the old ones in.

By the way, the reason why the yellow doesn't show up is because they added another colour category of ratings, below_average, which didn't exist before, but now corresponds to the yellow. And yes, yellow existed before, it's just using the new category. The aquamarine/turquoise colour is the new colour, but it's using an old category.

Personally, other than the changes to the ratings bars, I'm okay with OOTP25's skin options. The only reason I created the teal skin was I really didn't like any of OOTP23's skins, but that's not the case with OOTP25.

it is very strange that using new image files for the rating bars has no impact on the skin. One could delete the images all together and the skin still compiles and you still have those same colors. BUT some aspects of the skin are still dependant on those image files...I was able to change the background on the classic skin for example after editing it to remove the "blotches" of dark texture. So...yeah...kind of disappointing that skin behavior has changed in a very seemingly random way.

Loved using your v23 "Teal" skin.
