Because it's not a popular decision and everyone is going to have an opinion with having to pick sides. I don't pick sides unless it involves my girlfriend or my sister. I've chosen to keep my opinion neutral to an extent, because I tend to be vocal and will point and counterpoint anything.

The one thing I will say that I STRONGLY disagree with is blocking existing game saves from loading or modifying an existing game save.

Although with some of us the "backing up your game save all the time" can be quite the wait. Big World is like a 12GB save after six seasons.

I figured you wouldn't be happy about the developments cons8dering we build the same type of in game worlds. Guess that is why I was surprised to see you trolling the ones voicing displeasure even if isn't all productive

Wasn't sure if I should post this here or create its own topic...

But does this new change mean that anyone who's ever played for "The League That Shall Not Be Named" is going to have their name randomized? I only play MLB historical alternate replay but eventually some pretty important MLB players who previously played over there are going to show up in my game. Does this mean guys like... let's call him "Hecheero"... are going to get the "Jon Dowd" treatment and show up with some different name?

And if I change it back to his real name, the game will repeatedly change it back to something random?

I'm hoping I'm not correct. I'm hoping that if these players are covered by the MLBPA and not just the other league, we're in the clear.

Anybody know?

well the thing is (and this definitely affects Nutt) I just lost all of my vigor for international leagues in OOTP. Modding, helping with the database, etc, you name it. Until this is somehow rectified, to me anyway, there just isn't much point in trying to put together an international save of any kind...at least not one that attempts to reflect reality through immersion. That is issue number one for me.

Number two is the idea that existing games that many people have spent many, many, many hours on had to be destroyed really just doesn't sit well with me. This may very well not be the developers fault (in fact I don't think it is) but it's still the reality we are left with. As a man who has covered politics during my broadcasting career, I can assure you "politics IS perception...and perception IS reality.


edit: so I really did uninstall everything and now have placed all of my mods, uniforms, logos, templates & QuickStarts on the cloud for long term storage. I hope to unpack them again someday, but right now I just don't have the time, patience or stamina to re-do so much of what I have created over time, and all for a much less authentic experience.

Maybe Stellaris is a fun new hobby...I have heard good things about it. That or maybe jump back into Civilization. Stellaris may be a bit more thought provoking and be a much more "open ended" experience though. Anyway, it might be something new to try.

Stellaris is worth the time. And the money. Always evolving and improving. Lotta dlc but goes on sale a lot and really adds a lot of great features. Can probably get the whole set for 50/60 on sale but 100 for everything is still worth it. Hope ya enjoy it.

Have you looked or discovered if the IFA generated by the game each season will generate players from Japan? If not, that's really just BAD.

You have to add it to the international origin list on the League Settings (under players). Just tried it and it did generate IAFAs from Japan.

Not the amatuer free agents, but the established ones....I think it's set to about 10 or so per year. By default the nations those players come from are a mixture of Japan, S. Korea, Chinese Taipei, Mexico and Cuba. Then I think one percent comes from somewhere random. The most and best quality of these players are supposed to come from Japan. If this has been altered, you cannot even have a somewhat realistic MLB only save, as there will never be any players from Japan.

I've always turned that and created indy players off.

I assume the histories of players' who have plaid in the league are now an issue also...that's quite a few players I'd say. Check Darrin Run or Aaron Altherr.

I updated the list, in my dumbness and haste I didn't cross check some of the former MLB guys, a few did play in the other league this year but found 2 still that didn't.

EDIT: Oooh found a good one, Seiyu Suzuki rejoined in my save, so guess who isn't around anymore?

I know I checked recent guys (Kodai Senga, Scott Coolbaugh) and their histories and stats were all changed.
