Connie Mack Syndrome
is there a chance, sometime in the future, we could get the Connie Mack effect? That being able to be Owner, GM and manager at the same time?
just a thought and wish.

I like to play as "the meddling owner". I think they could do something more with that like letting you set the owner goals, letting you interfere with some things, but not others, etc.

in commish mode you still can't REALLY act as owner - setting goals, etc, and still be GM & manager, as Connie Mack was.... unless they changed something in 23 i am missing. All i see if you can type your name as owner and set generic numbers such as willingness to spend, meddling, etc. that can be done with every other owner from commish mode. Maybe it's as good as it gets now - Anyway was just a thought after reading a bit on Connie Mack the other day. Not a game changer or the end of the universe as is.

Connie Mack was an anomaly that will never be repeated in MLB. There's a rule against on-field personnel (players, managers, coaches, etc.) from owning any part of a major-league club. In fact, those rules were put in place when Mack was still the manager and owner of the A's, but he was exempted from them owing to a grandfather clause. So it's highly unlikely that OOTP will ever bother to try to replicate owner-managers, since they can't exist in the modern game. As it is, OOTP can't even get player-managers right - and those are still theoretically possible - so it would probably try to tackle those before it would ever attempt to get owner-managers in the game.

Yeah, in fact Ted Turner actually tried to pull a Connie Mack in the 70s as a publicity stunt but MLB forced him to hang up his manager’s spikes after a single game.
