Yes, but... the devs had to do some work to translate them from the old mesh to the new mesh and some logos / city names / nicknames don't look very good. And when you play, the uniforms sometimes look patchy during animations, which I think is also an artifact of this. But they're still usable (and the 3D in general looks a couple steps better than 22) and I expect that once the mods do the time-consuming work of converting everything to the new mesh, everything's going to look way, way better.
New jersey templates are a bit more complicated than the old ones, not a lot of different vintage layers available yet, so it will be slow going for sure. I created one template for the Astros which looks pretty good. Got one other for the 1960 tigers so far

silvam, I feared this was going to be the case - a new 3D mesh. While I like that old template jersey files still work for the player profile pictures, I see clearly now that it translates poorly on the 3D player. I'm not a fan of the new mesh in either case and I'm at a design decision going forward. Do I really want to conform to the new mesh??? That's a lot of redoing old work!

I'm with ya, although I don't think the urgency is quite high as we do have the old templates (though not perfect, but they didn't look that great in earlier versions either) The 2D versions of the old ones look exactly the same, so thats good.

My thing is that I'm not very good at creating the layers needed for the vintage jerseys. I went and tried to create the Collar with buttons and t a laces template and this is what I got.

I could possibly help with this but I'm sure my lack of knowledge will show. How are you editing the blue texture?

It looks like one major benefit to the new mesh is that the designs don't appear to warp when wrapping around the back, or if a symbol like the Astros star is not high up on the jersey. Jerseys that looked great in the profile did not always translate well to the field.

So the new mesh will handle more designs with less warping (from what I can see in the still view). This is a significant plus.

The drawback is that we'll have to redo all the work we did for the old mesh.

Exactly. I think if anything, the jerseys like the Blue Jays, and Astros could be worked on first.

Pendragon, I agree with you. Anyways, we can move this discussion elsewhere so as not to bore everyone else!

There are two new fielding stats:

Catcher Framing Runs - This applies not only to catchers but also pitchers so, I suppose, you know who benerfits the most from catcher framing.

Arm Runs - This seems to apply to fielders so you know which player is saving you the most runs. At least that is my guess as to what it represents.

Both stats have negative and postive values and seem to be counting stats.

That is a nice edition. Thanks Devs.

Anyone know how that impacts stats?

This sounds like a bug. Can you post a screenshot?

The latter appears to be the Raw Movement with a modifier based on groundball percentage. For example I'm looking at a guy who's got a 172 (already very high) Movement but he's also a pretty extreme groundball pitcher (61%), so his "View Movement is 192(!). Speaking of, there's another guy in the league who always seems to get screwed over by his low Movement rating even though he induces a lot of grounders and it looks like he got a boost from 45 to 70 in his "View Movement" due to a 65% groundball rating.

It definitely looks like they've made an attempt to get HR/FB rates more in line with reality while still allowing some guys to be homer-prone.
Still a head scratcher, especially from a marketing standpoint, as to why the laundry list of new items for OOTP23 that Markus posted yesterday, wasn't out there as to the days/weeks leading up to the release? I can understand some may have been added or tested at the last minute, and then were added to his list, but not all of them.

I hang out with a dozen baseball fanatics, one a former player, that purchase the game every year upon release, and continue our own online league. This will be the first year since OOTP4 that none of us are buying the latest release. Apparently, I'm the "go to guy" when it comes to info about the latest game, as I'm always on here reading updates, etc., and unfortunately, I didn't have a whole lot of ammo to give to my buds, and what was leaked, was very little to get excited about. It was a tough sell, that nobody was buying.

Now after reading the list yesterday, it is something to get excited about, and I know we'll eventually get the game, just not at this time. We're all still Ok with OOTP22. As all current or former business owners, it was very odd the way they rolled out this years release?

I love the "Position Calculator" function where it shows what a player's potential rating is at any position where they have experience.

SIERA has been added for pitchers, i dig it

batter contact calculations appear to be changed as well, as a few of my guys suffered some contact drops... i'm interested to see how it affects simming, especially with the adjustments to pitcher ratings

Only played around an hour just setting up my league and exploring potential roster moves.

BUT...first two things i've noticed that i've been wanting forever, improved email filters and expanded shop player options. Both very welcomed improvement that great add to experience, at least for myself.

Thank you and nicely done. I'm sure i'll notice many more.
