Yeah, sorry about not being specific enough. I'm at work and I don't have OOTP on this computer.

OK just found it on my laptop.
The app.cfg should not be empty. It will be in something like this link of mine:
C:\Users\[MyName]\AppData\Roaming\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 13\config

About 17 items down is:
enable_text_to_speech

Change the 0 to 1 and save the file. I'm not sure if you will need to restart OOTP or not if you have it open.

This is something I didn't know. You learn something everyday. This little feature will definitely make me play out a few games.

I want to be able to compare minor league players on their level as you can compare your ML roster w/out having to use shortlisted as a work around. Currently only works at the ML level when comparing players. Sry if this has been mentioned allready.

% of real life usage.

It'd be nice to have, under batting or pitching stats pulldown, a % of real usage option. This would greatly aid you when you're playing out a historical, real transactions/real lineups league, and you're trying to use the subs in an as real life fashion as possible. The way it is now, when choosing a sub you must open each players' card and then select "Real Life Stats" in order to figure out who's above or below his real life usage.

Hello,

Any update on this patch?

I’ve seen some recent discussions about game-bugs and support tickets ( I have one submitted myself) and wasn’t sure if they decided to delay the release as they go through those, and incorporate some of it into the patch etc…

Anxious to get back to my league.

My menieres disease caused me to miss my part-time job today. So I went ahead and worked on changing the 0 to a 1. Spent probably 15 min trying to find the line without using the game access. Ok, I'm old and dumb. : )

Finally read your entire note 21C and went for it with the game on and changed the number with wordpad.

FANTASTIC for me! I don't have to look at the script and the speech works just fine. It's even timed correctly with the video 99% of the time unless the script lists a bunch of stat data.

Just finished one inning of a game with my 1959 White Sox and got to hear the lady (hmmm) announce my childhood hero Nellie Fox at the plate. Fun neat stuff for someone that's played stat baseball since his early teens with APBA.


Now if I can only figure out how to get MS to use a man as the announcer!! At least the lady's voice is deep and not high pitched.

I just might start a new thread later on about all of this because there may be others that would consider it a good enhancement to the game.

What's to update?

Last week, he said 'next week'. This Monday of 'next week'. I'm sure they're working through as much as they can in order to still get the patch out 'this week'. That could be days, however, and still make the deadline.

According to the wikipedia article, "Anna" is the only TTS voice available for Windows 7. However, the article notes:

In Windows 8, the upcoming version of Windows, there are three new client voices - Microsoft David (US male) and Hazel (UK female) and Zira (US female) which sound more natural than Microsoft Anna. Microsoft Anna is no longer included.

Thanks for the response; as I mentioned in my post, I've seen some recent talk about a number of open support tickets and some game bugs (which they may incorporate) and I thought that it may cause a further delay.


As a result, it would just be good to get a read to see if they are still on-track, or if it looks like later in the Month. As I also mentioned, I'm anxious to get back to my league and if there is going to be a further delay, I may just go ahead and start another, or try another solution if possible. There could be some other folks in the same-boat, so it may help to get a quick update.

How about a Microsoft "Ken" (as in Ken Harrelson)?

It's different on 13 then 12? On 12 it sounded like Stephen Hawking and since I have my scroll rate? on Fast the voice could not keep up with the PBP and it took to long to say. Maybe I will see how it is on 13 myself again.

If you lower the PbP speed to Very Slow, the TTS feature is better at keeping up.

Ken Harrelson would be fine. As long as he would still be a biased White Sox caller. : )

Crum...guess I have to wait for Win8 which I won't be getting until long after the bugs are fixed. Oh well...the lady isn't too bad.

Guess I lucked out because the timing of the speech with the delivery of the pitch etc is spot on almost 100%. Only gets behind when several lines of player stats are listed.

Grandsons should be leaving soon. Papaw will complete the 59 White Sox game. Pitch by pitch...with the un er lady announcer...oh well...at least I don't have to read the script. !!!

Fix "start highest rested"! What's it for? Whether a 5 man or 6 man rotation is used, they all get the same # of starts when simming. There is no difference between "start highest rested" and "strict order".

I'm using it at the moment, near the end of the season with a 5-man rotation, my #1 has 35 GS, #2 has 31, #3 has 28, and I have juggled several for the other 2 spots but it's less than 28 each. It looks like it's working fine here, all games simmed and no line-ups inputted by me.
