Will OOTP13 work on IPAD?

Thanks again for your fine work and the Mods who make the experience even better!
I buy every year for my pc-but would love the full version for my IPad.

No.

There is, however, a scaled-down version made specifically for the iPad called iOOTP. I don't know if they're coming out with a new version this year or not though (I'm guessing no).

Didn't he hire a programmer specifically to work on iOOTP? I recall seeing something to that effect last spring around release.

Yes, but iOOTP is a scaled down version of OOTP. IIRC, it was first primarily meant for the iphone and ipod touch and then it was enhanced for the ipad's larger screen. I was actually wondering, though, if a full mac version would work on an ipad2. Perhaps an ipad2's specs are so poor compared to a regular mac that a full mac version of OOTP couldn't run on an ipad2, but maybe not.

(I don't have an apple anything so this is all just me wondering.)

Put LogMeIn on your PC and install the app on your iPad.

Nope… their operating systems are quite different.

They're still pretty underpowered compared to a real computer. Maybe in another 5 years.

I had read that with the IPad3s rumored new processor, all MAC apps from the appstore will also run on the Ipad3. Apple wanted cross platform compatibility. Is OOTP available in the Mac App Store that launches from the desktop?

It is supposed to be. Though I think the issue is less the processor and more the memory. Not sure what the RAM specs are on iPads.

Html5

If they were smart they would make an HTML5 app so that it could work in any device that supported a modern browser. It's not difficult to wrap that sort of thing up in installable app for the device either.

iOOTP 2012 for iOS will be released around the same time as OOTP 13! An Android version is in the works too, but this will take some more time as development for Android is a serious PITA.

OOTP (Mac) is available from the Mac App Store HOWEVER I'd take what you heard about iPad3 with a huge pinch of salt .... its simply not going to happen in my personal opinion.

The speed of mobile devices is far less than a modern desktop PC, the manufacturers play on peoples beliefs by giving similar names and repeating commonly heard terminology to make people think they're far faster than they are.

For instance mobile phone processors being said to be 'Dual Core' makes people think they're as fast as a dual-core PC .... but its far from the truth, its like saying that a Honda Civic is as fast as a Ferrari because both have a 'Petrol Engine' .... there are different types of engine and its that which determines the performance characteristics.
