photo issues unchanged
downloaded .17 and my existing leagues which were all photos (no FG) still show some of the photos in game, but mostly team logos instead of photos and occassionally FG instead of photos----photos all still exist in the images file but simply do not show up in game---same as patch .15

The results from this patch DO seem to be a bit uneven - some things are getting fixed, others are not.
Curiously, it seems to be the existing leagues that have the problem, not new ones. Strange. |

I'm sorry to note that, after installing 11.2.17, when I continue my existing fictional league the 'same picture' and 'change beard' options still have not been returned.

I'm scratching my head here, trying to figure out why patch 2.17 was released so close to patch 2.15. Looking at the fixes for 2.15 I can see substantial fixes and improvements to features and game function. For 2.17 it looks like Dave Kingman's beard didn't show up right in someones Facegen so there was a patch released.
Now, for those who do solo leagues and such this may not be such a big deal, but for online leagues that rely on 20-30+ owners all being at the same patch level it's a huge deal. Please, tell me I'm missing something here.

I believe that there were some bugs in the 2.15 patch and the 2.17 patch was an unsuccessful attempt to correct them. There will probably be another patch appearing soon as a second attempt to correct the bugs in patch 2.15.

I would like to report that I just patched to .17, and so far all of the PhotoFit FaceGen pictures I have checked in my existing historical league DO have all of the hair/ethnicity options in the menu.
However, the few players in my league that have neither a PhotoFit FaceGen or real photo available (and hence were given fictional FaceGen pictures) do NOT have the hair/ethnicity options in the menu. It sounds like hawaiiansky was having this same issue (no menu options for the FaceGen photos he created), but Big Six had the opposite issue - his fictional players had the menu options, but his PhotoFit players did not. Andreas - any idea why we might be seeing different behavior in different leagues? What criteria exactly does the code use to determine what menu options to display? Should the hair/ethnicity options display for all FaceGen files regardless of whether they're fictional or PhotoFit? Should those options only be disabled for "real" or non-present player photos? If so, I'm wondering if OOTP is treating any FaceGen photos that were created by a prior version/patchlevel of OOTP as "real" photos? How does OOTP know when it needs to update a FaceGen photo, and how does it retain any changes that have been made (beard, hair, etc.)? I wonder if re-generateing all the fictional photos using the latest patch would allow OOTP to start treating them properly. |

Think I'll stick with 11.2.15 for now.

Yeah, the face gen menu options didn't show in .17 for me either. FWIW my league is imported from version X. not created in 11. I did use the fix "go to each teams uniform screen and use the update player photos" which does to the trick and only takes about 5 minutes.
However if I go down to my minor leagues those players didn't get, in .15 or .17, menu options. Good news is you don't have to do the "team uniform screen fix" for all of your minor league teams if you don't want to. When you promote\demote a minor league player the game updates his picture and the menu selections appear. I'm not going to worry about it as the workaround was an easy one time thing. |

Just my opinion. The fact that 2.17 came out so quickly is an indication that OOTP was interested in correcting the bugs. That suggests that, if 2.17 failed to correct the issues, there would be another, more specifically directed attempt to correct these same remaining issues.

You're a smart man. If I had it to do over, I wouldn't patch until I read in the forum that the issues mentioned in this thread have been corrected.
