Update 11.2.17 released
This is an early notice, currently we have only the PC Windows version online. But we're working on the Mac and Linux updaters now.
11.2.17 fixes the following issues:
PC updater: Mirror 1 -> http://www.ootpdevfiles.com/ootp/ootp11update.exe Mirror 2 -> http://ootp.s3.amazonaws.com/ootp11/ootp11update.exe As always, the update contains all previous updates. |

Andreas, do we have to have installed 11.2.15 for this 11.2.17 to work, or is this one stand alone?
Thanks BTW for getting this out. Bravo to all you guys! |

Can someone tell me how to do this manually if you have already started a league with the previous patch?

You can just leave the pictures there. There's no neecd to delete them actually. If you want to save disk space you could manually delete them, but that's some work, depending on the league size... the problem is to prevent deleting team logos. |

Yes, that's what I would do. The all-in-one mod has surely a lot of images which are now in your /news/html/images folder and take away some disk space.

No, it actually has a much-updated generic non-copyrighted template.
Sure, it's not a "real" card, but you can see the difference. Last edited by BMW; 07-16-2010 at 02:43 PM. |

Check your version number on the top left as the menu screen completes. Does it say 11.2.17?

I just patched to 11.2.17.
My current favorite league is a 2010 MLB quickstart that is now getting ready for the 2021 season. It has a mixture of veteran "real" players and a lot of younger players who are fictional. I used facegen for all the players' pictures, so they're all "fictional" pictures. When I first patched the game, I was also missing the options for changing facial hair, ethnicity, etc.--even for fictional guys who broke in several years after the dynasty began. I used this work-around, which DreamTeams described in another post: "You can still add facial hair. After you import the fg file, go and change the team's uniform. Then go back to the player and all the options are there. Strange. " All I did was change the stripes on the team's jersey, and shazzam! All the options appeared. Then I went back and undid the change, so the unis look the same. Now I can add and take away beards all day long if I want. Yeah, it's a work-around, but it's a simple one. I just noticed this only works for a fictional player. I just tried it for Rick Porcello, a "real" player with a fictional picture. Even after I tweaked Rick's Diamondbacks uni, I still don't have the options. All the completely fictional D-backs are changeable, however.

I haven't tried the .17 patch yet since I'm still at work, but with .15 I had been getting around this beard/ethnicity issue by going to that same uniform page and instead of just changing the uniform, I would click on the button to re-generate pictures for all team members (or something to that effect). It took a few seconds, and sometimes I would have to go to a player profile a couple of times before the new picture got picked up, but for every one I tried, the beard/ethnicity options were there - even for PhotoFit players. I was able to add a beard to Kirk Gibson because he looked naked without some facial hair.
I'll install .17 when I get home and see how things behave then. I was just getting used to the way .15 behaves, so hopefully .17 doesn't change the rules TOO too much. Hopefully just makes things simpler and more reliable. :-) Oh, and I was one of the ones who went to my news\html\images folder and deleted all the firstname_lastname.jpg files that .15 converted to player_xxx.png files for me. As Andreas stated, it is not simple - because there are logos and web interface menu graphics, etc. that you have to make sure you DON'T delete. There's really no quick command to do it reliably - you basically just have to go in and delete them manually to make sure you only delete the unnecessary player photos and not something else. |

So there are still problems with facegen with this patch? Anyone else seeing problems with facegen after the 1.11.17 patch?
It's hard to follow what's going on with the game since we began using the ticket method of reporting probelms.

1. Have you tried running the patch again to make sure the changes DO occur? 2. Have you tried creating a new league, importing an existing real player facegen, then trying the options? |
