Sometimes she does. Sometimes my daughter does, too.

How much control would we have on the owners. Will we be able to force him to sell to a new guy, prevent new owner's from moving clubs, things of that nature. This sounds like a pretty cool feature.

I don't like when developers assume they know what's best for me. In this case, I can assure you, I much prefer seeing the numbers (and I don't want to have to run customized views to do it). |

Less info displayed and having to click more buttons to find what I want is NOT a good thing. But they treat us like idiots and move on with their "Godly" attitude. Last edited by BusterKing; 03-27-2010 at 01:26 PM. |

This is the same information you have access to now (personality ratings), and accessible in the exact same manner as in OOTP 10 (through custom views, or directly on the person profile). There are no extra clicks required. The only difference is that instead of numbers, they're words. It's less granular, but that was a design decision that Markus made based on feedback he'd collected and his own personal opinions about it. To PineTar, as you can see from the game setup screens, Markus certainly is no stranger to making things "optional." But please realize too that every option that gets added makes the game more complicated to test, and increases the risk of bugs or increases the development time. Buster, I'm not sure where you've developed this opinion that we're holier-than-thou, looking down on you in a condescending fashion. It's part of any business that has a product that the product changes over time based on what the company thinks is best. If I buy a bottle of Lysol, and they've changed the spray cap, and I liked the old one better, I can say I liked the old one better, and I can even campaign for its return. But, I don't accuse them of not considering their customers, or of having a "godly" attitude. They're doing what they can to make the best Lysol product, even if I disagree with their choices. I just don't get where all the hate is coming from.

In a MP setting (which in full disclosure is the only way I play OOTP), if these traits mean anything (and apparently they do), you can be sure that you will be competing against other owners that are obsessing over them. You don't want to have to parse frilly language - you want the hard numbers, and you want those to be easily accessible. For online leagues, I would go even futher - not only do you want these numbers to be easily accessible in-game on the player page, you want them to be easily accessible on the HTML player pages. Take an online draft, for instance. Some people will be picking either at work, on their phone, or some other place where they may not be able to open up OOTP to evaluate draftees. But they can get to the html. |

It would be nice to raise this for fictional leagues and lower it for leagues that mirror MLB. |

I know, some people don't like to hear the real facts and there are a bunch of fanbois here.
I bought every version of this game and I will call it the way it is. And I don't care if others like it or not. I'm not here for a popularity contest. Last edited by BusterKing; 03-27-2010 at 01:23 PM. |

I get that Markus may not like that personality ratings were so precise before. I don't have an issue with him making it on a 1-5 scale or whatever it is now (hopefully it's not less than that). What I have an issue with is the words. It doesn't really matter if the game sorts them properly or not. If we export them then now we have to turn those words into numbers so that they sort and filter (can you filter at all based on words in the game?). It makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever to turn what were just fine as numbers into text. If you want to make it 1-5 then fine, but to make it words just makes things more difficult and possibly even confusing. Vets will remember those confusing hits and bumps dev terms where many of us could never remember which was good and which was bad. Hopefully these new personality word ratings won't be confusing, but they certainly sound like they'll complicate things and I'm just hoping that we'll soon see them turned back to numbers.

That being said, these are my opinions. Some will agree with me and some won't. I think it is good that you express what you like better on the forums, that is how they see what people like. But there will be times when things are changed not to your liking. It doesn't make Markus and everyone evil. They just make changes to the game that they believe the majority of the people will like. Unfortunately sometimes we are not in the majority. Othertimes their judgement may be wrong, but since they do all the work and take all the risk it is their choice to make. |

No need for this.

It's not hate. It's an opinion. Then when Markus boasts about how he has 100 votes you get to think your opinion doesn't really count.

The screenshot displayed mentions only one of six personality traits in text: leadership. Does that mean that the other five are all 3 on a 1-5 scale? Does that mean that the other five are all 2-4 on a 1-5 scale?
