Benitez has ruined his career.

Wracked by injury? Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Everton have all had far worse injury issues than Liverpool have. Even Villa and Man City have had comparable issues.

Far worse? Not even close. Torres might be the best striker in the EPL; Gerrard the best midfielder. And, what do the injury situation of any other club have to do with Liverpool?

It was a freak draw. Higuen missed an open goal; RM dominated the early going. I imagine that this is going to really hurt RM in its overdrawn pocketbook.

Wouldn't call it a freak draw, you failed to mention that Lyon were the better team in the second half and also that Lyon could have gone into the second leg with more than a 1-0 lead. Over the two legs Lyon deserved to go through, nothing freaky about it.

I don't think people actually know how good this United team/squad is to have all the injuries they've had and still be in the champions league and also top of the EPL. |

Going into this season it was arguable he was better. Rooney has improved a lot this season while Torres has had an injury plagued campaign.

The point is, Liverpool's been playing against clubs whose injuries are just as debilitating. It's not an excuse -- especially because this is now Rafa Benitez's squad, and a squad that is almost as expensive as Chelsea's or Man City's. If they don't have enough depth to cover what is realistically a fairly average injury list, it's just as poor a reflection on Benitez as if they were in the same situation without picking up any injuries.

If anything Liverpool have too many squad players, most of their starting line up are just well squad players who wouldn't get into any of the top teams. And as for United without Rooney I'm staking my house on it that they'd still finish higher than Liverpool, in fact they'd still be top four.

Is the streak going to end, I was looking at a piece about unwanted records in sport and came across Rochdale. They were relegated to the bottom league of english football in 1974 and have stayed there ever since, longer than any other club. At this present moment in time they are top of their division 6 points in front with a game in hand over their rivals, be one heck of a party in Rochdale if they get promoted.

It's always been the bottom league aka League Two or as it used to be Division Four, Wigan Athletic have played most of their professional games around those leagues and as I've stated before best times I've had as a football supporter.

Talking of records of the 20 teams in the english premier league which record do Wigan Athletic hold and it's an elite record that not even the likes of Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea or Arsenal have claim to.

I've actually never heard of one at Wigan so maybe they hold the record for streakerless ![]() Nah scratch the question I forgot about Hull City, I was thinking that Wigan were the only team never to have been relegated from the top division but Hull haven't as well. |
