The World of Football/Soccer.

In 375 days the World Cup in South Africa starts with the first game being played at the Soccer City Stadium in Johannesburg, the thread isn’t just about the World Cup but football/soccer in general and by that I mean football from non league right up to International level, from the Guatemala Liga Nacional to the English Premier League.

You may think that there isn’t much going on in the world of football but there were hundreds of games played around the globe today in various leagues and with the transfer window opening in the not to distant future transfer rumours are abound.

So enjoy

There are so many great stories on the front burner right now.

What will happen with Mike Ashley and Newcastle?

Where will Carlos Tevez go?

Where will Frank Ribeiry go?

Who will coach Chelsea?

David Beckham?

Will Robinho go back to Brazil?

'arry Redknapp back to Portsmouth??

I wonder how the WC in South Africa will go? News reports I have read indicate that the nation is still not ready to host the games.

Being a Wigan Athletic fan the stories that are important to me at the moment are.

Will Steve Bruce join Sunderland ? - Yes

Will Luis Antonio Valencia leave ? - Yes

Will Paul Scharner leave ? - Yes

Will Paul Jewell return as manager ? - Maybe but hopefully not

And who will be Wigan's next manager if Bruce leaves ? - Hopefully Martinez from Swansea or maybe even Sir Alex's boy Darren at Peterborough.

I'm sure it'll all be fine though. We always hear of things not ready before a big competition.

Ashley and Newcastle - No idea why a rich Arab doesn't buy them, imo there as good a prospect as Man City are.

Tevez - Man Utd must be mad to let him go so I'm thinking he'll stay, simple reason if he goes to Liverpool I can see them winning the Premiership next season and be a kick in the teeth if he gos to their cross city rivals City.

Ribery I'm thinking Madrid.

Well Ancelotti left Milan so he looks like the favourite at the moment.

David Beckham hopefully butt probed by aliens.

Robinho probably stay a year or two.

Redknapp as about as much loyalty as Steve Bruce so expect him to leave Spurs and go to Portsmouth and by the time he's got half way there to be the next Spurs manager

Ribery to Man U, C Ronaldo to Madrid, Tevez to Bayern Munich, Robinho to Brazil, Beckham goes to West Ham.

I'm surprised Beckham is still in the England squad. Capello must be a good guy to be able to admit he's wrong.

Don't you have to be at least 32 to play there?

Italy are having financial problems. But so is England. The pound is falling and new higher taxes will make internationals think twice to come to England. Maybe its time for Germany to make a resurgence? And Ukraine and Russia are on the rise club wise.

Whoever takes over that club is going to have a job on their hands, most of their first team is 30+, maybe give the job to Maldini, sell Kaka and build the team up with the money they get.

Arshavin was re doing his contract with Arsenal because he realised how much tax he was paying.

I met a guy from Kiev and he said that Ukranian soccer players have to send something like 75% of their earnings back to their motherland. Is this true?

Ancelotti to Chelsea. A moronic hire IMO. He really doesnt speak English and he won only 1 Scudetto in eight years.
