LOL
I get a kick out of these threads. People complain that they chose to get the discounted preorder and then complain that the game isnt released yet. I wasnt aware that the only way to purchase this game was preorder. I guess if I was worried about when the game was going to be released I wouldnt be such a tighta$$ and order it when it was released if I still wanted it then. |

It never fails to crack me up when people offer business advice to Markus et al. For one thing, it always involves the scenario of the poster getting exactly what they want exactly when they want it and that leading to untold fortunes for Markus. Some businesses don’t want/need to continually push for large scale expansion, so they do not focus on it. With the increased revenue, you also get increased headaches. It’s a fact. And these headaches aren’t just the usual ham & eggers that like to show up and complain on a message board (although more business would mean more of them as well.) When OOTP Developments is ready to change the current business plan (again), I’m sure it will (again.) And, I will wish them luck at that time.
If a man can make a living by doing something he loves and believes in and can do this by primarily selling the fruits of his labor to a loyal niche group of customers, he is the luckiest man on Earth, in my book. |

Steve told me he'd wash my car if I pre-ordered.
That's top-shelf marketing right there. |

Based on precedent, OOTP does not get released on Opening Day. This does not make it proper, but it is what has historically happened. |

Somehow out of this thread you were able to determine I am a tight a$$? It has nothing to do with the money bro I am doing alright but THANKS for your opinion, even though it is completely off the mark.
I just simply want to play the game. That's all. Quote:

I wasnt aware I had called you a tighta$$ athough it confuses me as to why a person would preorder if they were so concerned about the time frame a game would be released. It would make sense to me to just pay the extra 5-10 dollars to make sure I am getting a product I still want.

You know why the game is never released on opening day? Because Markus cares enough about his customers that he works on patches for months after release.
If he started working on the following year's game on release day like the console sports sim makers (they actually start working on the next year's version before their game is even released) you could probably get a finished product on opening day. But you wouldn't get nearly as many fixes in your patches, or nearly as many patches at all. And to the guy who claims that the game was finished in April and Markus just chose not to release it, I'd like to point out two things: 1. There's no logic in that because Markus wouldn't benefit in any way from doing that. 2. If you're going to make public claims like that you had better come packing some proof, pal.

Good god!! in defense of my post about the 5th one posted. i was being sarcastic. The reason why Markus did not release the game in April at the start of the Baseball season is BECAUSE IT WASN'T READY. Is that a sensible reason not to buy the game - of course not. All kinds of games get released before they are ready and gues what- the complaints on those boards never cease.
the original poster then went on to point out that he thinks that it is the best GM game on the market but needs work in the in-game experience. My point was that if you are only willing to buy a perfect game then you are going to have to wait a lot longer than about 1 more week. I promise no more sarcasm. |
