I'd love to see more detail in Game Replays.
It would be nice to see the players' ratings, just as they're visible when playing out a game: the fielding ratings of the players in the field, the running ratings of the players on base, etc. It would also be great if something revealed defensive alignments; right now, if you're watching a replay, you don't know if the infield is in, etc. I'm in online leagues, and the game replays are very important to me, so I'd like to see them fleshed out better. |

The ranges and skills of fielders have a definite impact effect on the game but it's all in the background unless you study the PbP. I'd appreciate some statistical addenda to the box score recording the number of hits turned into outs by my guys, by player. And the hits that should have been outs. |

Thank you for thinking of me, Isura, but it's just a little more complicated than that. What I really want is the ability to mass SELECT players and other things. Once some players have been selected you could do with them whatever you could do with one player now — delete, change position or role, move/promote/demote… whatever. You should also be able to use this function to copy things over from place to place, like manager tendencies and situational strategies.

This would be my second choice, and it should be part of any revamping of the financial model. That's such a great idea that I wish I'd thought of it, but it's not as high a priority for me. More like a Christmas present. |

While we're at it, how about letting us import players straight into a draft class. Unless I've missed it, this can't be done at present. |

I would like to see more news reports concerning team performance. For example, a report if a team wins or loses 10 games in a row. Also, a news report if a team scores 15 or more runs in a game. Finally, I'd like to see reports about amazing games, such as a huge comeback in the ninth inning, or a game that goes 15 innings or more. I just had a game in my league go 24 innings, yet there was no mention of it.
It would also be nice to see news reports congratulating a team for winning a division or clinching a playoff spot, and also winning a playoff series. The news reports seem to focus on the players' performance, which is fine. But I'm the type of OOTP player who likes to look at the bigger picture. I'm fascinated by which teams win the most championships and which teams struggle the most. Last edited by jg2977; 02-24-2009 at 11:17 AM. |

Aside from a true working Normalization feature ( customizeable of course ),
what I find myself wishing for is a way to import from a historical DB any draft class at any time. I suppose this ties in with the many requests for a "mass-select" feature since the functions are related. We'd still need the ability to normalize easily for wildly disparate draft years/seasons. |

I'd love to have a way to access pitch counts for the last 5 days for all of my pitchers while playing out a game. In other words, one screen that provides that data for all of my pitchers at once, to make it easier to decide who to use during that particular game.
As it is, you have to click on each individual pitcher to see when he last worked.

My proposals
I have two "original" proposes for OOTP X:
1): National team tournaments, like the upcoming WBC. This could be an interesting feature. 2): Generate umpires for use at the game, with ratings like: Out-Safe Eye, (for homeplate umpires) Strike-Ball Eye, Foul-Fair Ball Eye (the last three separates between, but all linked between them), Ability for Being Argued, Ejection, (for leagues with challenge) Challenging HRs, and Ability for different umpiring duties: HP Umpire, 1B Umpire, 2B Umpire, 3B Umpire and (for MLB All-Stars and playoffs) LF Umpire and RF Umpire. I'm not sure if something similar to this has been mentioned yet, and it probably seems really minor compared to everything else, but I'd like to see a ratings scale option that goes by the scouting scale you see normally, 20-80 in increments of 5 with ML average being 50 (honestly unsure if ML average is 50 in the current scale it doesn't seem to be that way but I could be wrong).

Ability to import faces from the FACEGEN program directly into the game (not a static picture, but faces that age, change uniforms when traded, etc)

a few new features, some of which have been mentioned before, that would be cool, but not deal breakers if they weren't included, would be
1. A WBC-like tournament, this could also go towards creating realistic winter and fall leagues 2. realistic spring training, especially non-roster invitees 3. futures all-star game 4. more awards, for example, Comeback Player of the Year, All-Star MVP, World Series MVP, Hank Aaron, Silver Slugger, Tony Conigliaro... 5. more news stories, for example walk-off wins, comebacks from injuries, maybe manager-player conflicts 6. customizable in-game music, hearing "Shippin Up to Boston" or "Enter Sandman" when a specific closer comes in would make my day.

I'd like to have an easier way to print. I've always disliked the 'external browser' feature, because it opens my web browser and I get a message that certain content is being blocked.
I also have to reconfigure printing every time I print something out, because the pages are always too big, even when I use landscape. Tedious.

There's a 20-80 by ones scale, and a 2-8 scale (which is 20-80 by tens), but no 20-80 by fives in my edition. 20-80 by fives is what Mets Inside Pitch magazine claims real scouts use for their evaluations.

Yeah basically what Curtis said, along with the fact that I believe there should be an option at least to slide the scale somewhat up. A player whose potential grades out at 30 in real life is not considered to be able to play in the major leagues, generally you have to get to about 40 to start talk about major leaguers at all. There are a few too many players who grade out at 70+ in the game as well compared to how a realistic scouting scale would work, but thats a lesser problem I think.

My understanding matches this. I think 40 is the rating for that 'replacement player' in VORP, and as noel said above, the average major leaguer would be a 50. 70s should be all-stars and 80s future hall of famers.
