This series vs the Mets was one of the best non-playoff series I've ever seen... of course, the Phillies winning all 4 games helps make it more enjoyable

That was a great game yesterday. I can't even describe the angst I felt when the Phils gave up 5 runs to go down 10-8 and having seemingly blown the chance to sweep the Mets. But to come back against Wagner, who gave up that homerun a few years back that cost the Phils a chance at the postseason, that was kind of sweet. Probably the most excited I've ever been about a game in August.

84-88 wins, 2-6 games out of a playoff spot. In case I forgot to predict that in April.

Is anyone else watching this game? This 8th inning for Atlanta is one of the most ludicrous things I've ever watched.

Schmidt poo poos the worthy candidates yet to be inducted by the Vets committee and then endorses Jim Kaat's candidacy for induction. :vomits:

Being a HOF'er in no way whatsoever makes one qualifed to vote on the HOF ballot.

I think that sounds about right.

Today's game was a catastrophe. Seven runs surrendered in the final two innings to make an almost certain "W" an 8-9 "L".

It was a complete joke, I've never seen so many fluke singles in a GAME let alone in a 2-inning span in my life. The Braves announcers actually sounded embarassed that the Braves won.

I've predicted that A-Rod will be a Phillie next year. You're welcome.

Somehow the Phils will finish with 84-88 wins next year anyway.

It's about time someone came through with a bases loaded hit for the Braves.

Three straight sweeps of the Mets, and we're still pretty close to being out of contention.
