PureSim stopped being pure crud a very long time back. It's moved up to slow but amusing. Give it some more time, and it will change to pretty clever. It's on a nice path.

Markus is just off the grid. Last message from him was that he was sick, and another beta build would be sent for testing this upcoming week.

It would be vastly better to get regular public updates, even if it is a post "I got a flu bug."

I don't have the experience of being on a beta team pre-SI but I don't recall Markus talking a great deal about patches before he put them out either. Some of those patches were really, really huge as well: he had this habit of making the final version like halfway to the next one (not just with v6 and the 19.99 expansion pack either; ISTR versions 4 and 5 having huge additions in the patches as well).

In that respect I think the addition of SI and Marc Duffy have actually helped with this somewhat. Granted, we don't always get to hear about the game directly from The Man but there was nothing even remotely like TRTR before SI.

As someone who at one point quit on OOTP (after v6.5) in favor of PS, I very much agree. Also, even if it isn't as good as OOTP, it comes from a different design standpoint and is, well, a totally different game. IMO this particular mini-industry has seen its best innovations since Shawn introduced real competition into the mix. Markus has had the pleasure of seeing good points in a similar game that he could add to his own and bad things that he could avoid without running trial balloons. In addition, he has the added incentive that if he doesn't continue to innovate, Mr. Sullivan is sitting right there, maybe a year or two behind him, ready to catch up.

Honestly, I knew there was another patch discussed but thought I'd missed any news about it. I didn't expect any of this.

With this group? Ah well, it was a bit contentious but the steam seems to have blown off.

I don't blame you for asking at all deadringer. I was very curious also.

So, I'm guessing that there is no news on the latest patch then. Oh well, I'll get back to playing. Love the game!!! Can't wait for an update/patch.

I'm turning this around, manooly. Pretty soon, I'm going to say "Can't wait for this update/patch . . . any longer. The heck with it, I'm starting my new league!"
