I think it's funny that people are desperate to spend their money on a product that's not going to be released until next month. Don't get me wrong, I will be pre-ordering, but I can wait until tomorrow...why the rush? Relax!

I'd rush...sometimes good things come to those who don't wait.

Still not accepting the discount code. Just bumping this and providing an update. I'd like to order it before this code expires. The game is looking great. Keep up the good work.

It's odd, I even PMed Marc to tell him the email so he has the info, but no email, and I get spam from everyhere. It might be the mailer they use to send out the emails?

OK, I just received it about 1/2 hr ago. To be honest the actual discount isn't that big of a deal as the money actually saved isn't that much. It was just the principle of the thing.

No biggie but thanks for working this out. I was starting to feel left out. LOL! j/k

I've never gotten an email for any discount code...and I've purchased the last 3 versions online(plus STBB from a store).

I'm about as positive as I can be that I used the same email address every time(personal aol address for things just like this). Didnt get to my spam folder either. Hmm...

I wouldnt mind getting a discount code as I plan on buying 2007 as well...but this seems to be not working out for me at this time.

Coupon should work now

AOL have bounced all our emails today which explains why some of you are not getting the mails. AOL seem to think we are hardcore spammers.

I got both emails here... debated whether or not to pre-order, or wait... then snow and ice and Valentine's day came and went without an order. Today I saw the extension for a discount... flipped a coin (heads)... and ordered the game. I hope it lives up to the advance hype better than its predessor did (in my mind at least). 2006 was a decent game but far from great and filled with just a few too many annoyances to be truly enjoyable. Sooooooo... 36 ,ore days to wait now!!!!!

Keep up the good work guys (and gals).

Does AOL have settings for the user to tell AOL not to block suspected spammers or to at least deliver suspected spam to a junk folder? I use hotmail for this sort of thing and with the settings I use I've very rarely had a problem with not receiving email that I should have and when I have who knows whose fault it really was. I have it set to a high (exclusive) filter, but I also have it set to deliver those that don't pass the filter to my junk folder to quickly look over just in case. If AOL has something like that, you might want to try it.

My setting was at Medium for spam control...and set to block emails only from senders on a list (which it creates when you select an email & click Report Spam).

I've changed it to allow all emails now (presumably this will still filter some to the Spam folder, but hopefully allow ALL emails to get to me), though it may be too late for the coupon email. But I dont know if that is the problem really...I've never had any issues getting emails in the past (that I know of at least).

Wink

I believe what Marc was referring to was AOL bouncing the mail as it arrived at the AOL server, without it ever getting near your accounts. Years ago (and maybe still, for all I know) Earthlink had a similar policy. As a service to their customers, they keep (kept) a list of 'notorious' spammers, and any mail addressed to any '@aol.com' location that originated from these spammers would either be bounced back or vaporized. Your settings would have absolutely no effect upon that… if that is in fact what Marc's talking about.

How do you get to be 'notorious'? Different providers used differing criteria. For some it would be any originator who had a formal complaint (or complaints from three seperate customers, or whatever number) lodged against them. Some providers would 'blackball' you if a thousand (or some other number of) e-mails entered their system from one origination point within 24 hours. Others had still different ways to ferret out these fiends.

I cry a shame upon you, Marc Duffy! Shame! Shame!!!

Hopefully you get lucky!!!!!

According to Email:

100 preview places available
I'm delighted to announce that 100 people who pre-order will be selected at random to receive a special preview version of the game before anyone else.

This special preview version will be available early March and everyone who is selected will have the chance to provide feedback to Markus and his team prior to launch.
