If we can't have a trading block, how about just a no-trade list? I get tired of the AI constantly making me offers for the players I wouldn't trade under any circumstances. If we could designate some players as being untradeable that would be a big help. The AI could do it as well.

Did anybody mention "team stances" insofar as Rebuilding, Balanced, and Win Now? This is my biggest miss by a long way.
I think this helps people who don't want to take adavantage of the AI (ie, I never tried to trade my prospects to a team in Win Now, because even if I could trick the AI into doing it, it wouldn't be honorable). |

My list in no particular order...
- Define player value (via ratings, three years of stats) - Minors report (recommend promote/demote) - Cancel contract offer - Immediate trades (prefereable as a option for those of us that want it the old way) - List of players that a trade partner is interested in when a human offers someone - Financial report - Top 100 prospects report - Roster report - showing potential free agents and potential rule 5 guys on your team at all levels. - 7 day lineups - Team focus (win now, rebuild, balanced) This is just off the top of my head, so I probably missed something. |

I would really like to see another tab in the league transaction screen called "Targets". This Targets tab would show all of the players that you have currently offered contracts to. From this tab you would be able to raise or cancel an offer. Quote:

Thanks for the tip on the prospect report. I must have missed it.
I'm still waiting for my enthusiasm for this version to materialize. I still play 6.51 much more than 2006. I'm really keeping a close eye on the patches and what people are saying on the board. I really hope that a lot of these (and other) 6.5 features make it into 2006. |

Thanks for taking the time to post - I had figured this would be the case - but I was holding out a little hope.

Some more things
Agree with most posts, especially re trading features. Here are my other "like to haves..."
- Better Navigation - takes too many clicks, from screen to screen, to do simple things, like releasing a veteran player (9 clicks), promoting player to 40 man then active roster, etc. In 6.5, most of these could be done drag & click on a single screen. Far too unwieldy now. - Roster visability. In 6.5, I could see and manage my entire roster from a single screen (Transactions). Now, only 4 teams (or other categories, eg DFA) are shown at one time. Have to keep toggling back and forth from the "Affiliated Teams" drop down; far too complicated; get all 6-7 teams and categories on one screen, even if small type - Memory - Needs to keep track of 'where I was' before last click, ie, if I'm checking my players on the Transaction screen and click on 2B'man 'x', when I right click it goes back to top of roster screen... annoying. Similair in other screens - Common sense - Program should default to most obvious data, ie, if I click on Pitchers in Free Agent file, I should see pitching stats or ratings; if I next go to batters, I should see batting stats or ratings; but I don't, I see whatever the last screen was, in this case I'd get pitching stats for batters... annoying More Navigation - On free agents, All Players, etc files, I liked the 6.5 format where they were in a continuous list that I could scroll down. In 2006, they are on 'pages' that I have to click to change... annoying Spring training - Liked being able to adjust what someone works on (don't know if it worked, but liked the idea). Also, the report on who got better/worse Scouting Report - Can live w/ the new numbers approach, but liked the 6.5 word approach more. Believe, however, that you should eliminate the ratings for coaches/scouts. In real life, Scout 'x' doesn't have a precise rating; at best, "experienced" or "inexperienced" ; or "good", "ok", "learning". A scout - or coach - who is recognized as a '3' or such doesn't get work. Maybe have it set up so I can note which scout did a good job and keep track of this; then I form my own opinion Rankings - liked 6.5's Power Rankings and Minor League System rankings. It was a way to see if I was improving based upon roster moves Finally - Wasn't in 6.5, but would like to see a "notepad" on each Player Profile, where I could make notes to myself, eg, why I drafted him, what a scout said about him 3 yrs ago, other stuff that have to remember now |

The layouts of the pitching staff, depth charts, and the lineups, along with the ability to alter which stats are displayed on the lineup screen.
The new layouts are counter inuitive for the western world, as we read left to right, and not top to bottom.

An intuitive league leaders board. I mentioned in another running thread already, but I was so dissapointed by the statistic interface of this game. I click on batting leaders and instead of picking what category I want to view, I am just given the top 10 in a bunch of different categories. The 'Sortable Player Stats' screen is flawed, because you can't filter by subleague on that screen. You can't filter out unqualified players also.
This seems like something simple and that can be fixed by a patch or at least I hope it is. |
