How come the game incorrectly gives a pitcher a loss when he isn't on the hook for it?

many, many, many times for me this season, my starting pitcher would get the loss for a game he started, but...

real MLB, that is exactly what happens, regardless of whether he plays for someone else or not. the player gets paid his guaranteed contract.
