Promotion within Minors

I play as one human controlled team vs computer teams. When I look at the minor league rosters for the computer teams, I see all kinds of players that should be upgraded to the next minor league level (two green arrows). Does the computer ever promote these guys?? .. Is it up to me?? Thanks .....

The computer only allows a certain number of players at each position at each level, if you see this happening chances are it is because the next level or even 2 levels are "full" at that position.

This has been tweaked in the update as a league I have had for a number of years had quite a few minor leaguers released immediately upon installing the update to test. Most of the released players were "dead-wood" so to speak.

i have noticed that too....

if you go to the Minor League report, underneath those players, you will get a report telling you how each is performing in the minors.
if one of the guys says "ready for the next level" u know what that means.....but i do not know if the manager will do it for you: i think u have to do it manually: just drag him to the next level.

i wonder if there is ever a message saying "ready for the BIG LEAGUE"?? i've only seen it from AA to AAA...and i haven't been playing very long

If your team is set to "computer manage minors" on team setup screen it will do it for you, if not you must do it. NO, you do not get a "ready for majors" message that is where your skill comes in. Not much challenge if you were told this also.

guh?

Acually, I've always moved a player to the majors after the scouting report says "he could be ready to face major league hitters/pitchers right now!" or something like that.

I thought that was the right way to go....Isn't it?

IF your scout was perfect that would be the way to go, but they are still flawed and not 100% correct.

Steve, is this the new update you are speaking of? If so that excites me. I can not wait to see the Computer Teams dump most of their bums. I think doin that will make this game even more competitive for the solo players.
