Greatest Game Created Slugger I have ever seen

GREATEST GAME CREATED SLUGGER I HAVE EVER SEEN

In all my years playing I do not think I have seen a more dominant game created player (with no editing by me) than this guy. It was just a quick sim 16 team league with no minors I was running to test a modified schools database I made. Started in 1901 and simmed until 1970. The league was set for 1950 modifiers with no changes except I turned league evolution on for more/less pitching/hitting only.

Frank Cairns was a beast. And best of all I was a third round pick in a 16 team league with a 5 round draft and no minors so he had to be a guy who had a real power breakthrough. I don't know for sure what his ratings were as I always play stats only with scouting set to low and focused on stats over ratings.

Drafted out of a college in December 1944 it took 2 and a half years on the reserve roster before his big league debut. Just amazing HR numbers though. His 784 is 250 more than anyone else in the history of the league. He lucked out a bit as he came up at the right era as the game had swung towards power hitting for nearly his entire career before swinging back to pitching in later years.

Only 1 other player ever hit 60 homers. This guy surpassed the 60 total 6 times and holds the top six single season marks and also the 10th, 11th, 14th and 15th highest single season total. The year he hit 80 one other player hit 56. The next highest total that season in either league was 39.

And this was with no editing, just quick simmed 70 years over night. I have never had a guy that dominant unless I edit players myself. I usually play with minor leagues so I am wondering if perhaps using reserve rosters instead can cause more development spikes. As mentioned above I play stats only so I don't know what his ratings were but he clearly had dominant power but also struck out a ton. A souped up Dave Kingman or early in his career Mike Schmidt type.

Nearly half of his big league hits were homers and he had a lifetime .232 average, leading the league in both homers and k's for 12 straight seasons. His 2,115 strikeouts are also the most of all-time, and nearly 400 more than the number two guy on the list and over 600 ahead of the guy who was fanned the third most times in league history.

Edit - I should mention on the awards that I turned all of them off except for MVP, Cy Young and ROY so there was no all-star game for him to be selected for.

Interesting distribution of stats. It took me by surprise when I noted the .232 lifetime batting average. Pure power hitter.

Me too. Comparing your phenomenal masher to RL Hall-of-Famers, that career BA would be well below anyone else. Schalk has the lowest = .253, followed by Killebrew = .256, and then Maranville = .258.

The OBP of .356 would be near the bottom as well--above Maranville's .318 and Shalk's .340.

Schalk was way ahead of his time and in RL represented the prototypical OOTP catcher in terms of value for a Dead Ball Era historical sim. He was considered one of the best defensive catchers of all time, gets you a hit every one out of 4 at-bats, and had very good speed on the base paths as a bonus.

That is a beast

Haven't had too many great sluggers but this is the best SP I came across.
Frank Falconi, pitched my beloved Tigers to 9 WS titles and collected 7 Cy Young awards, 9 ASG appearances while setting franchise records for wins with 227 and Ks with over 3200. Best slugger I could find never got more than 53 HR.
