Opinions wanted
Guys, I'm kind of torn between three fonts, and basically all I'm asking is which font do you guys like best for this logo.
I've already sent the person this logo is intended for all three versions to let him pick for himself, but I'm just curious as to which everyone here likes best. ---------- |

I voted for #1. The 3rd one was a close second, with the block-style lettering, but for some reason, I just preferred 1 overall.

dbacks, I know you are tired of me saying it, but you really do nice logos.
I preferred #3 with the block lettering...it just had more of the traditional college logo feel to it...with #1 my second choice. Just a suggestion: don't cut off the "P" top with the baseball...let the whole letter show. |

Is this for an online league or a real baseball uni?

I have attached two other options. The font in these two attachments is the block font in option #3 above.
KQ, this is actually for a website. I was taking batting practice with my team last week, and my dad had emailed my hitting coach some of my graphics work (still have no clue why - I can never get a straightforward answer from him when I ask), so he came up to me after practice and asked me to create a logo and banner for his website. I said I would, so I made a logo for him. I was a little bored today, so I started messing with the composition and fonts, and came up with a ton of different options. The two that are attached are the most recent. You can see the website here- www.baseballplayeruniversity.com Another website unrelated to BPU, but also run by the same person is http://www.triplethreatinc.com/conta...es/jeffbio.htm --- Last edited by dbacks; 09-17-2004 at 09:30 PM. |

#5 is the best now IMO. Those are good site ideas, but I think you could make both look much better for him.

I think #5 is the best one so far.
The mortar board/graduation cap really get the point across...a baseball school. The Triple Threat logo is super...with the 3T. Looking forward to your finished product on his websites. Last edited by Eugene Church; 09-17-2004 at 09:42 PM. |

Oh... I didn't want to make it sound like I'm doing everything for him. I have no clue who designed his websites, nor who made the logos he has right now.
I only take credit for the logos which I have posted in this thread. It's up to him if he decides to use these, however, I have nothing to do with what you see right now. I was just posting those links to give you an idea of what these logos are for, and who it is I am making them for. ![]() To be perfectly honest, I could probably design a better Triple Threat website than he has now (probably much better ), but that would be too time-consuming for me.As of right now, all he has asked me to do is to create a new logo/banner for the BPU website. |

Final version. I took what I thought was the best primary, best secondary, and best woodmark, and made a new "set."
If anybody has any suggestions for improvements, I'm all open to them. ![]() ----- |

Guess I'm a little late, but...
If you want to emphasize the "online" part of it, I'd go with #1. If you want to emphasize the "university" part of it, I'd go with #3. (which is pretty much what Eugene said four hours ago , but I had to go see an actual baseball game... Bisons win! Buffalo wins the IL!)

dbacks, I think the little graphic there with the cap is pretty cool but maybe you can jazz it up a bit, add some shadow etc, something like this maybe:
just my 2-cent. Overall, very nice work. |

I really like that secondary and I think they should just use that as a primary. |

dbacks, the new set is excellent...I'm out of suggestions...you did well.
I think the swirl around the woodmark really improves it. What is "primary", "woodmark" and "secondary"? Last edited by Eugene Church; 09-18-2004 at 11:57 AM. |

Secondary- The Secondary is usually just the icon or symbol (the graphical part of the logo). Sometimes text is included in the secondary logo, however, unlike the primary, it might be an abbreviation, just the city name, or just the team name, rather than a combination of the three. Woodmark- The woodmark is usually just the text/type, in a solid color, or combination of colors. Sometimes, the main icon, or an alternate icon is included with the woodmark, but is much smaller. Not sure how much that helps. If you need some visuals to compare with my descriptions, check out cuss's site here. Click on the individual folders, and check out his primaries, secondaries, and woodmarks. EDIT: Or just look about 7 posts up.

, and I even had the same idea (great minds think alike ) when I first started. But as you can see, my "jazzed up" version is not as nice-looking as yours is.

I always thought it was woOdmark, so I spent 15 minutes trying to prove you wrong. I absolutely hate to admit you were right, but I see no way around it.
