Bobcats expansion draft

Anyone getting geared up for this like me?

Charlotte has moved up to no.2 via trade with the L.A. Clippers for the fourth and 33rd picks. They also agreed to select Predrag Drobnjak.

They also just made a deal with the Cavs. Cleveland has made a deal that entails the selection of Aleksandr Pavlovic in the expansion draft from Utah in exchange for a future frst round pick.

But who's going to be available Thursday, Dwight or Emeka?

Woo, I'm excited

IMO we are best off abandoning that sinking ship that is Off Topic to the rats infesting it and just starting a whole new Baseball Forum from scratch.

At least the Magic should be able to finish ahead of one team next season. I wonder who they'll get for Steve Francis (assuming the McGrady trade goes through), since there's --><-- much of a chance that he'll ever dress in a Magic uniform.

I'm a Jason Kopono fan just because of his UCLA years. Hopefully he'll get more playing time with Charlotte than he did with Cleaveland.

Damn... I was hoping that they would take some of the dead weight from the knicks.

Before only a few days ago, same here. There was a lot of decently big names made available, but they didn't pick a single one. Youth movement I guess.

I'm going to try to go to the first game, but I've never been a huge NBA guy.

I'm not suprised by the selections; why take the high salary bums who just want a paycheck when you can get cheap bums who want to prove themselves.

It'll be interesting to see who they get in the amatuer draft; hopefully somebody they can build around. And if I were the Bobcats, I'd give a tryout to Josh Powell (NC State player who declared for draft last season but went undrafted). He's a local name and not a bad player, either.

Selections I'm happy with. Though it's safe to say only about 4 of their initial players will be on the team come opening day. I've decided to follow them from day one.

I think Rufus Lynx likes the results of the draft.

Can someone clarify for me exactly WHY it's such a smart business decision to kick the Hornets out of town only to field a worse team two years later?

Although I was happy to see that they are definitely in a youth movement. It'd be nice to see one or two of those nobodies evolve into a solid NBA player.

Two words: George Shinn.

We drove the owner out of town. We would have rather he sold the team, but we'd take getting rid of him any way possible.

Surprised none of the younger Pacers weren't taken. Some good players there, and good team players are harder to find than bonafide starters.

No Antoine walker. The Mavs left him unprotected. Wouldn't he have been the best player on the team? The team they drafted would lose 70 games.

Antoine Walker is a very expensive player, so it's not a option for the Bobcats. They want cap space to use in Free-Agency.

And with this team the Bobcats will lose more than 70 games... but wait for some trades.

If they wanted to clog up the little cap space they had, they would've taken him. I believe they are allowed to have a $30 million cap this season.

I almost dropped dead earlier when I heard them say Jahidi White makes 5.8 million a year he was the most expensive player selected. Oh to be tall fat and talentless
