Why are Ratings capped at 100

I don't get why the ratings are capped. I'm sure people have complained already. I understadn that it can go higher than the max of 100, 10, etc, but u can't see it. This does not make sense.

There are so many Commishes that find ways to cheat. This is pretty obvious. I can have Bonds, who's 150, but the Commish can change it to 100, while making his 100 HR guy to 200, and I wouldn't even know. Was there some sort of reasoning behind capping it?

Seriously, I don't know, but I think I liked it better when they were not. Not only the excellent point you bring up about cheating, but it was nice to see that some players were reaching unbelievable.

Part of the beauty of baseball is that there is no limit to how good a player can be. OOTP6 seems to be making players more alike, especially pitching. While that is true in real-life with 99% of the players, we care about those handful of guys that do the incredible. You can see by my avatar that I hate Bonds. Still, what he's doing is incredible, and baseball is pretty much about looking for that one guy to break the records, or an underdog team of scrappy players that reach beyond their talents to beat the Yanks. We try to imulate that feeling in our leagues... when u see guys that had 15-HR ratings in OOTP5, everyone in the league would take notice, causing discussions, etc. Now, that part of the online league is gone.

Maybe the idea was to focus on stats, but there are already options to hide ratings, stars, talents, etc. Why not have a option for capping ratings as well?
