Does it regularly happen that time out due to injury will change from sim to sim? My ace was supposed to be out for 8 weeks, but now it says that he won't be back till 13 weeks after his injury! This has pretty much killed my team's otherwise good chances at the playoffs. I realize it is realistic, but I don't think I've noticed it in the game before.

I've had it happen, not always but at certain times w/ certain players, etc.

I once had a player pushed back from returning no less than six times. From four weeks to ten weeks, and of course it was my number four hitter in a season I was fighting for post season play. That's the most extreme case I've seen, usually its fairly rare, at least in my experience.

Yeah, you have to love the email from the trainers telling you the player isn't healing as fast as expected.

I like this feature, but I wish it could be moderated by spending more money on team health care, which should be a feature in the game. Actually, I think team physician or trainer should be in with the coaches.

I've never seen it happen without receiving an e-mail from the medical staff, but yeah, I've had a guy go from out 5 weeks with a rotator cuff to being out the remainder of the season after 5 or 6 "isn't healing as fast as expected". Cost me my managerial job. I'd never realized that no one ever healed faster... that'd be a nice addition, definitely.
I do like the idea to have a medical staff available with coaches and scouts as well.

I found an easter egg. If you hit Alt-H when checking an injured player's status, you'll get an option to spend 125,000 on acupuncture treatment.
4 times it worked miracles on an injured player, on another he got an infection and the wound went septic, resulting in an ampuation. |

Bump? Can we PLEASE get team doctors in OOTP6 which will affect how often you get this stupid email? It's at the point now where I'm surprised when someone actually returns when he's supposed to.

This whole concept of paying trainers seems silly to me
Don't all major league teams already have top medical care? And injuries that don't heal as fast as expected?
What would a top-flight medical team cost? $500,000 million at most? Wouldn't everyone just pay that anyway? |

I've had it happen, but not that dramatic.
