I’ve always recreated my custom views. What is the method to getting them to all pull through to the new release?

Keep in mind this works 99.9% of the time. Sometimes there are changes in the newest version and, according to Matt, why they don't get brought forward in imported games. In one of the recent versions they added, IIRC, a "rookie yes/no" column you could add to your views. It didn't mess anything up, but it did appear in some of the views I copied into the game. I've been copying mine for many versions and this is the only time I can recall them not being perfectly done.
But, this year they are adding a ton of advanced stats. From the screenshots I think they are all in their own new table in customize view screens. With that in mind I'm guessing they won't interfere with any of our old views. But, like any year, it's probably best to at least give all of your views a glance to be sure.

So all I need is the tables folder? Close OOTP and reboot it? |

Bluenoser's post here gives the explanation to find the folder with user.dat in it. Ignore the new machine comments , it's the same as doing a new version. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...32&postcount=2 For user.dat OOTP27 cannot be open when you copy the v26 file into v27. Only the file containing the user.dat should be open in windows browser. Use Bluenoser's steps in the linked post to find the user.dat location in v27. Once that folder is open close v27. Then copy in your v26 file. Close the folder. When you start v27 you should be good to go. If it doesn't work then you more that likely forgot to close OOTP 27 before copying in the file. At least that is the only time I've never had it stick. The only thing to do then is go back and do it again. Don't forget to make backups of the original OOTP27 files just in case. ![]() That's for PC. No idea if it's the same on Mac.

As long as you follow those steps, you should be fine. I completely rebuilt all my views during Beta for 27. When I imported my views I had a problem where a bunch of drop down menus stopped working. After some digging I discovered it was because when I installed that build, the install was corrupted.
No problem, I just did a clean uninstall/reinstall and everything worked fine. The main reason I rebuilt all my views was 2 fold - new stats and they just plain needed it. 3 years ago I purchased an Ultra Wide Monitor (after drooling over Swede's for a year I finally got 1 ) and went crazy with all the extra space. I just kept adding stuff to my views because I had lots of room. (Like a kid with a new toy, I went nuts lol) It was time for a serious cleanup - so I just took advantage of the time on Beta to do them over.I removed stats that I rarely looked at and added new ones. They're much cleaner looking now, very happy I decided to do that. Yes, it took the better part of an hour but was well worth it. |

Was this after I started that thread saying it didn't fully work for me and you said you experienced something similar? Did you try it again after that? EDIT: I haven't tried it since because I figured I'd have to eventually totally rebuild mine as well.

Not sure when you started that thread, it was a fairly early beta build where I had the install problem. I tried it and it worked, but then did the total rebuild anyway. It was needed since mine were quite messy.

The changelist specifically mentions the potential for problems doing this for 27. I'm going to take it as a sign that it's time to update, as others have mentioned above.

First thing I do before trying to change any of those screen is pull out a backup of my user.dat file. It just feels better knowing I can go back if things go terribly wrong. Having said that I have found that I've always been able to get what I want ("tetris" it 'til it fits, great term for it ) if I am willing to be patient and spend as much time as it takes. Patience is the hard part.
