[Fallout] The Commonwealth Baseball League

I'm a bit of a nerd in that when I play my video games, I like to immerse myself in it as much as possible. With my current playthrough of Fallout, I can't help but put some of my baseball love in my character, and as I rise to Mayor of Diamond City, I thought... I should rebuild Baseball to bring a bit of civilization back to the world.

Backstory and theatrics aside, I am debating putting in the work to build a Fallout Universe in OOTP.

I have no idea where to start, and would love input or if someone is crazy enough to love my idea... Help.

How possible is this to pull off and do?

Ideas:

The Boston League begins as a small inter-settlement baseball league when the Sole Survivor brings true baseball back to Diamond City.

It potentially could expand into the Commonwealth League, similar to the American and National League.

Early on, I'd want the league to have low skill but high on the random people could be better.

A way to let the occasional Super Mutant in would be awesome, but if not possible we could just say we don't want any genetically altered people in baseball.

You might want to check out StLee's thread.

I recommend you start small and maybe add onto it as you go. Otherwise you might get bogged down in the details and never actually launch it.

Very fair, I actually just realized I'm not the only one who thought of it and it is kinda obvious. Still I would love to see this project become a real thing, cause I was also thinking of the fun way to simulate starting fresh with 1871 league development.

Hey DT. Thanks for contacting me. I will reply here since my private messages inbox is pretty much full:

I am . . . eccentric. And also a nerd (English professor)!

I am a longtime fan of the Fallout universe, and I have actually planned out an entire connected universe. I am also glad to see that the Fallout TV show is properly effing up the Mojave like I did! If President Kimball turns out to be an Institute-placed synth that destroyed the NCR from within, they will need to pay me royalties for writing their story for them!!!

For my universe, all canon games are connected. I first wanted to start a Fallout 3 league but decided not to because I did not yet have the skills to create the universe my way, replete with images and uniforms. I did have those skills to create my Fallout: New Vegas' Mojave Baseball League so began there. Fallout 3 is a part of my universe and will be introduced later once I play through it again. I planned that one out with expansions and of course connections to my other two Fallout dynasties.

For both, I began by writing. And writing. And writing. For Fallout 4's Commonwealth Baseball Organization
, I made a 25-year plan for basics on how the league would start, develop, and then enter perpetual continuation. For Fallout: New Vegas' Mojave Baseball League, it had a six-year story arc because it was character-focused instead of baseball-focused.

I also spent a lot of time making and tweaking uniforms and logos, in-universe attributions, and branching storylines. It has been a passion project, which leads to my greatest advice and something other dynasty makers will tell you, too:

This needs to be a passion to make it worth your while. Consider what drives you to post rather than what compels people to read it. Make it something for you!

I like what you have planned in your first post above. Put it together as a test league, not worrying about graphics or anything else, see how you feel, take extensive notes, and then decide how you want to approach your storylines. Let me know when you launch it, and I will be sure to follow along in your journey.
