Com2us Signed *** License agreement

News (Sorry It's Korean!)

So can I get a hope for Nippon Pro Baseball comeback to OOTP in future?

Edit : When I saw first news in this morning, the news said they are signed recently but this news what I linked say they signed since 2022. So I'm not sure when is correct date. I'm sorry for all that I give a confusion. I'm pretty sure that I saw a news said about Com2Us is in the negotiating about *** License last year Q2 or Q3, So I hope this is the new contract. again, sorry for wrong information.

I would expect a fully licensed *** in OOTP26, and hopefully a return to giving us other international leagues in the base game.

No reason it should be excluded now that C2S has the license.

We can hope that the license will extend to OOTP, but I wouldn't think it's guaranteed to. The google translation of the article talks about a new game that C2S has been working on since 2022 (when did C2S buy OOTP?), but it doesn't mention OOTP. Anyway, the news is good of course, but I wouldn't bank on it for OOTP.

[Youth Daily] Com2uS, a renowned baseball game company, is targeting the Japanese baseball market.

Com2uS announced on the 8th that it has been developing a real baseball game based on [league redacted] (***), a general corporation, since 2022 and is aiming for release next year.

Com2uS Japan, Com2uS Japan, the Japanese subsidiary of Com2uS, secured an official license from *** through a contract with *** in 2022, and based on this, Com2uS will be able to secure ***'s official license with players from 12 Japanese professional baseball teams in the Central League and Pacific League. The logo, uniform, baseball field, and commentary are all implemented with the highest quality.

In particular, in order to perfectly recreate the appearance of *** players, the development team visited Japan and collaborated with all 12 clubs to obtain facial data of active players through 3D scanning technology, and created pitching and batting postures for each player, as well as ceremony and emotional expression for each situation. The plan is to provide the best *** game that fully captures the reactions of local baseball fans.

Japan boasts one of the world's three largest gaming markets along with the U.S. and China, and enthusiasm for baseball games is particularly strong. The average number of spectators per Japanese professional baseball game in 2019 was 30,929, the highest in the world, and last year, the annual cumulative number of spectators was about 25.07 million, and the total baseball population is known to be about 30 million.

Com2uS is expecting remarkable results in the Japanese game market through this new game. Com2u's KBO and MLB officially licensed games are already recognized as the 'No. 1 mobile baseball game' in each league in major countries such as Korea, the United States, Japan, and Taiwan, and with the addition of this *** officially licensed game, it is expanding its presence in the global baseball game market. The plan is to establish oneself as the strongest.

Ji-Woong Hong, managing director of Com2uS baseball game development, said, “Com2uS has been growing the size of the baseball game market every year based on the capabilities it has accumulated on the global stage for a long time,” adding, “The best graphic quality and content that combines more than 20 years of development know-how. “We will show the success formula of Com2uS, a renowned baseball game company,” he said.

If they had a contract with them in 2022...why did we go through this mess? Meaning, if they had already had a contract...does that change the fact that they can now have that league back in OOTP?

Let me think it from dark side.
They signed it in 2022 for *** side license(e.g license used for only the game that they are developing) and remove OOTP's.. That could be a key for sucesse of signing negotination.

If my thought is true then.. no hope

OOTP Developments is not the same entity as Com2uS So, I wish I could share your optimism. Even more important, it's also a financial aspect. Our sales numbers in Japan have always been very weak and wouldn't justify the cost for a license at all.

Wow, all these redactions and asterisks yet people can still use the Chier Wahoo caricature here.

I wonder how much they could reduce the price is they got rid of the MLB and Players Association licenses. I'd be OK with downloading my own logos. And we'd get back drug and domestic violence suspensions and injuries!

This can still happen, just need someone to mod it into the game.

Who knows, but it doesn’t sound like there will be any licensing deal in the near future (if ever)

I agree ... I understand that they can't use the name in the game, but it's ridiculous that a major global league can't be even named on these forums without asterisks ... like they're Lord Voldemort or something.

Japanese gamers arent big on western styled Tycoon games which OOTP is an off shoot of.

Now if this was Out of This World Farming OOWF the Japanese gamer would be all over it as long as it was on all their devices and handhelds.
