Exclamation OOTP 25 Public Beta Patch (Version 25.3.57) Available!

Important: This patch is only for OOTP 25 versions which were purchased directly from us or resellers who use our version. It is also available via the Steam client with the public password below.

Hi everybody!

We're preparing to release the third OOTP 25 patch, so here is a public beta, version 25.3.57. Please give it a try and report bugs here if you'd like to help

Use this at your own risk! Please back up important league files before loading them in this beta. This patch is compatible with the previous patch for online leagues - exports will work between versions, however both clients and the commish need to update to benefit from the online league fixes.

Changelists 25.3.57:
Updated MLB roster set (need to start new game for changes to apply)
Fixed ratings relative to KBO or other leagues when MLB also active in game
Updated KBO draft order
Fixed inability to manually add development lab programs if they were to end on the season start date
Adjusted Batter/Pitcher balance in drafts and prospect lists
Fixed some errors creating online league reports archives
Fixed historical players minor league stats not importing in some cases
Fixed random games appearing in player records after reschedule
Fixed ARM and UBR values (will only impact games going forward, does not update previous calculations)
Fixed historical exhibition player ratings
Adjusted in-game rate of diving catches
Adjusted top prospect list to not have as many really young players
Adjusted player development speed, increased internal talent change randomness
Adjusted triples rates for created players
Fixed random debut players not retiring when retire according to history
Random debut will not default to miss seasons according to real life
If Miss Seasons is enabled in random debut leagues, missed seasons will be based on players’ season, not league season
Fixed crash when clicking on team in top right calendar
Adjusted fan interest change when adding/losing popular players
Removed PBABIIP and HRA on player development screen when showing BABIP is turned off
Player development: Reduced chance of very young players suffering a talent drop (IAFA)
Game Engine: Adjusted 1B catching errors rate
Online Leagues: Fixed coach replies with waypoints - teams should get one waypoint to reply to another team submitting an offer to one of their coaches
PT: Fixed card shop combinator watchlist being empty
PT: Fixed card shop combinator sorting
PT: Added tournament name to transaction history
PT: Filter duplicates in combinator page will not include the “original” card
PT: Improved sort in combinator list
PT Tournament Roster Builder:
Syncs server-saved rosters between devices
Updated handling of buttons and dropdown boxes
several small bug fixes

How to access the beta on Steam:
  • Quit OOTP 25 if it's running.
  • Open Steam client -> Library
  • Right click on Out of the Park Baseball 25
  • Click on "Properties" at the bottom of the menu
  • Click on the beta tab. Here, enter the following code / password: ootp25betapt
  • Click on "Check code"
  • Open the beta pull-down and select "publicbeta".
  • Close the Steam client (Steam menu -> Exit)
  • Open the client again. It should then download the beta build.
Update Info for our webstore customers: To apply the update, simply download the setup file and install it over your current installation. There is no need to uninstall or unlicense your current copy! However, you should quit the game before installing it, of course. Updates always contain all the changes from previous updates. Saved games are compatible between different versions.

Download link for PC Beta (Fastspring Webstore Version):
Main server: PC Installer
Mirror: http://ootpdevfiles.com/ootp/25.3.57/ootp25setup.exe

Here's a PC installer (Fastspring) that installs into a single folder, which is useful for external HDs for example. Or for creating a second test install of the game, so you can try the patch out without the risk of messing up your main install of the game if something is wrong in the patch:
PC Single Folder Installer

Download link for Mac (FastSpring):
Main Server: Mac OSX Installer
Mirror: http://ootpdevfiles.com/ootp/25.3.57...5Installer.dmg

Please post here if you have any issues or if you run into major bugs. Thanks! If all goes well, then we will launch the patch officially next week.

Cheers,
The OOTP Team

Thanks for the patch guys!

What will the above two changes do in a standard MLB game?

Did the issue with major league level teams not purchasing players (stars) from lesser leagues get resolved in this patch ?

Are the stats vs. the day's starting pitcher back on the pre-game options screen?

Not yet

I know you mentioned it in one post as being something that would be adjusted/changed. Markus also mentioned in a post after the last patch that it would be worked on.

Inquiring minds want to know... can you reveal the circumstances that led to this bug? It's sort of a fascinating bug, imo.

Basically when we re-initialize a game that was suspended, we ended up with the wrong team in some cases on some batting stats.

Thanks! I love insights like that. Baseball and OOTP are complex games and getting the nuance of every possible interaction has to be a real challenge.

"delay" in ball leaving pitcher's hand

I just added the new patch and have seen a significant delay as the pitcher goes through it's follow through before the ball heads towards home plate. Not every pitch and not every pitcher, but quite often. I haven't seen that until this latest patch.

Thanks!

Is it intentional that Position Player Fatigue setting, which was previously 'Moderate(Average)', was changed to 'High' in 25?

This wasn’t changed in the patch. That’s the default this year.

I agree and also the ball strike sound plays long before the pitcher is done with windup quite often.

Will the top prospect fix work on a current save? My scout is still showing all rookie and international players as the top prospects and so is BNN.

It won't change until the next time the prospect list is regenerated.

Outfielder overruning base hits

Hi,
Another graphic issue has come up with the new patch...on some bloop singles into the outfield, the animation seems to show the outfielder catching or trapping the ball, only to have it roll behind them, then the outfielder quickly jumps back to field the ball, like it was just a single hit right to them.

This happens probably 3x per game.

Orioles New Owner

Orioles owner is still listed as Angelos. The sale was approved before opening day, so I think David Rubenstein should be listed as the new owner on season start.
