Little things and quality of life enhancements you are seeing in in v25

Sometimes it's the little things that bring a smile.

On the dark skin they've brought back yellow highlights for any of your players on leader boards, and your team in the standings etc.. On the World Homepage all league champions are also highlighted in yellow.

Cash from owner projections for next season and the following season are a nice touch. I have a team that is growing into some hefty salary increases and looking ahead in v24 I knew things were going to get very tight. I could only guess at what the owner might kick in or wonder if he would kick in anything at all. I'll have to wait to see how it turns out, but projections say he will put in enough to keep the boat afloat.

There are some really, really small ones that are making me happy. Swapping between AAA and the majors in lineups or staffs doesn't force me to change Scope to have the right statistics, god I hated that.

People have mentioned it, but the potential stats being on the pop up is great, makes messing with prospects on a quick list much better.

I honestly think every year is a little better with UI and 24 was no different but it introduced some other menu oddness that probably bothered just me, and they seem ironed out. I know how hard the intricacies of UI coding can be, I appreciate what the team puts in.

I've wanted this, also. Makes it easier to see you own players on this lists.

Player Lab results are noted in player history, both what was worked on and how the player did.

This is a great addition. Also works well when looking over trades. Previous versions when reviewing a trade of vet for prospect one had to open the prospect screen to get any idea of the value of the trade. Now one can just hover over names to get a good idea, and click only if one wants more depth.

They've added abbreviated labels to the scope, split, double split menu headers. In this screen it's nice seeing MLB and ST are selected in the menu header instead of having to look through the listing on the right side of the screen.

It kind of makes me a little sad that no one's noticed there were like 10,000 smaller US towns added to the world db

I noticed the file size of world_default was a couple mb larger, and assumed city data was added, but hadn't gotten around to looking what nations had it done yet.

It's basically all the cities/towns we didn't have included for something like 15-20 US states. Which is in the thousands in total for some states.

Hopefully the rest of the US will come in a patch or more likely for next year's game and then will move on to other nations a time allows.

Are you on a 10,000 x 10,000 resolution? that's a lot of info on 1 screen.

I like seeing a minor league player's combined stats if he played at more than one level

The Load Game dialogue screen improvements are really nice. For those who haven't noticed, in prior versions you'd get the following info on the Load Game panel:

Game Name - whatever you file-named your league
Main League - for historical this would be Major League Baseball; for fictionals it would be whatever you named your top-level league, maybe "All-World Baseball Conglomeration" or "Jim's League of Robots"...
Game Date - the date of your league, so if you're on opening day the date might be 04/05/yyyy or if you've played through the end of the 1931 playoffs, this date might be something like 10/17/1931

And the above three fields would not have any headers.

Now in OOTP 25 you get those three fields, plus:

Current Team - the team you're running (blank if you're not running one)
Access Date - the date you last loaded your league into OOTP. This one in particular is, IMO, VERY handy

And now these five columns have headers!

If you haven't noticed this yet, check it out. It's especially helpful for those of us who either have lots of games because they do a lot of testing, or those who just create a lot of OOTP scenarios... It can save having to open and close multiple leagues just to try to figure out which one you're looking for...

Nice work, OOTP folks!

3440*1440 and just as impressive when playing out a game in modern 3d.
I've had it for about 18 months, bought it when prices came down on them a bit. No regrets whatsoever.

Well done detail add. I've been playing with a modded world default file for years, but will pull the US from the next update and import it

I've got those exact dimensions myself. I haven't gone quite as column-crazy but there's enough screen real estate to show all of the back-of-the-baseball card stats I want plus fielding ratings for each position plus fielding stats plus player morale/personality ratings.

Oh right, speaking of *that*... the personality ratings used to be all spelled out. Now they're single letters (I think if there's enough width they're spelled out again) that are, as they were before, color coded.

For anyone that knows..

If one is playing a v24 imported game do they have to reimport the world database to get these cities?

Same question for schools, if any were/are added?

Thanks.

This is great! But we still need to add Trout Creek, MI, for Dick "Fishing" Pole.

Do you have a link to that monitor? I'm legally blind, and right now I'm playing on a 23" monitor that does 1920x1080, but am looking at getting something more robust
