Hi everybody!

We have continued to work on the game, so here is a new public beta, version 24.7.72. Please give it a try if you'd like to help

Use this at your own risk! Please back up important league files before loading them in this beta. This patch is compatible with the previous patch for online leagues - exports will work between versions, however both clients and the commish need to update to benefit from the online league fixes.

Adjusted game engine for GB/FB balance (may want to run auto-calc or adjust league stats groundball modifier down)

Fixed some issues when coaching contract extensions are disabled
Fixed teams waiving players coming off rehab assignments
Adjusted AI contract offers for some players
Adjusted playoff series MVP to come from losing team less
Fixed some text around promotion/demotion in international leagues
Online League: Fixed transactions not uploading
PT: Fixed some roster import/export issues (mission right click buttons, other errors)
PT: Added global default “Allow PH if tired” setting
PT: Fixed some sizing+spacing in missions screen
PT: Added right-click “Activate Card” to Manage Cards screen
Misc bug fixes (offers for untouchable players, foreigner discovery, AI free agent offers)

How to access the beta on Steam:

• Quit OOTP 24 if it's running.
• Open Steam client -> Library
• Right click on Out of the Park Baseball 24
• Click on "Properties" at the bottom of the menu
• Click on the beta tab. Here, enter the following code / password: ootp24betapt
• Click on "Check code"
• Open the beta pull-down and select "publicbeta".
• Close the Steam client (Steam menu -> Exit)
• Open the client again. It should then download the beta build.

Update Info for our webstore customers: To apply the update, simply download the setup file and install it over your current installation. There is no need to uninstall or unlicense your current copy! However, you should quit the game before installing it, of course. Updates always contain all the changes from previous updates. Saved games are compatible between different versions.

Here's a PC installer (Fastspring) that installs into a single folder, which is useful for external HDs for example. Or for creating a second test install of the game, so you can try the patch out without the risk of messing up your main install of the game if something is wrong in the patch:

Is this related to the AI not offering signing bonuses on milb contracts?

edit: ok, just downloaded & tested. You can still easily snap up any minor-league free agent you want by adding a token signing bonus to an milb contract offer.

Installation question. when i installed 24, i put it in my E:/Main Drive folder but did not create a OOTP 24 main folder. Can i move the data and default data folder or if i install the update to a ootp 24 folder can i then transfer files over without having to re-do everything?

I have a C: drive (237 Gb) that is just for startup/recovery then a E: which i labeled Main Drive with 931 GB available.

Does it mean draftees are assigned to the teams who picked them in real life or that all the draftees are there with updated ratings as needed and they will be picked randomly when July comes around in 2023. I assume the latter since the game starts before the season starts but thought I'd ask.

Basically, we were being too aggressive at giving people improved fielding ratings when they only played short amount of time at a 2nd position. So players who only played a few games at SS in a season were coming in with way too high ratings there. The change drops them back to being more replacement level in general.

It's more related to the live start, so that in that mode players will start on their correct teams. There were some ID issues for a number of players that needed correcting.
It also included a general update on prospect ratings, adjusting depending on the latest information on all of them.

Orf, Perkins and Shin all had retired flags set like Langford, all are now fixed.

Grice and Martin, I'm not sure what you mean with draft eligible 24 or 26. They're both set as draft eligible for 23 in the db and nothing appears off that would make them appear in a different year. Is this in a default roster or after running the live start?

In the live start I downloaded they appeared in the draft pools in the years specified. I will download another live start from the beta now to see if they are fixed.

This is from today's beta live start, which I assume hasn't been updated.

Save is a live start started in May.

Draft Order is correct but after hitting import 2023 draft results, teams skip picks. Those players are listed as draft eligible or not found. As the draft progress, the picks per round decreases. Rds 8 to 20 has about 4-15 teams making picks.

Yohandy Morales to Washington down to Kemp Alderman to Miami imported as supplemental RD 1 picks when they actually were RD 2 picks irl.

About 10%. The in-game groundball modifier from what I saw seemed to start at around 1.150, give or take. Dropping it down closer to 1 or 1.05 should help the balance.
