Sun stays up
Why isn't the sky not matching the times?? It's almost 10 pm at night and the sun is going down!? This isn't Finland.
In the summer, the sun should start going down around 815pm or so and be down by 9. Sun should be down earlier in early spring or late fall! Last edited by sdw1000; 06-04-2023 at 01:38 AM. Reason: new pic |

What is your default time zone setting in the "Manager's office>manager options>" menu?
I play in Chicago, my time zone is set at "UTC -6 hours (CST, central standard time)". Using that setting and OOTP's default 2023 MLB schedule my skyline changes to night at the "proper" time. I've never had an issue with any of the included MLB schedules that have the proper start times. Hope that helps. |

I'll have to check. I thought there was a time zone setting somewheres... Thanks.

But the sunset is bogus. That view in most parks would be to the NE. No sunset there.

Where and when is that game being played? The times will vary with the actual city the game is played in. And it's always possible things are off slightly depending on the geographical data.
The game also uses an idealized model of time zones, if I recall. So that could lead to some slight issues, like if the game thinks a city "should" be in an earlier or later timezone than they are IRL (ie. if when we calculate, we think Detroit should be in Central time and not Eastern time, we will likely adjust the sunrise times according to that). We might be off for sure, though, it's a tricky subject. What date and city was that game in, and what time was that in that view, and when did it shift to night-time? |

During game play what does the time say that is next to the scoreboard (modern 3d view). In my game it always shows local time.

It's June 7th today, the sun will set at 9:10pm. It won't be dark until after 10:00.

I thought it might be wrong Lat and Longs,,, but they are correct for Citi Field. In fairness, the sky has been orange in NYC all day today...
EDIT, now I see it is Shea, check the coords. 40.7566480000000 and -73.8463260000000 are Citi's and obviously Shea was next door.

Apologies for reviving this old thread.
I just had the exact same problem. Game was at Citi Field, started at 7:30 PM, and the sun simply never went down. I've also noticed numerous games in late May in other cities in which the sun doesn't go down until almost 9:30 PM. Haven't noticed this in older versions. This was the first game in which the sun simply didn't set - it didn't even change to twilight. It was just blue skies all night long. |

Have not seen this. I'm racking my brain trying to come up with a fix. I doubt that I did anything brilliant to coordinate the proper time for sunset. I am going to play a game out at Citi Field, just in case it's somehow ballpark-related.

If you check coordinates and time zones, the sunset time is dynamic based on them. It's definitely not going to 100% line up with real life, but it should be relatively close ideally (give or take some daylight savings time issues).
