I am wanting to play OOTP at a certain pace but I can't figure it out

OOTP is the most in-depth baseball game I've ever played, and I love that. I really want to be able to sit in on every game and manage it. However, the pacing really doesn't work for me and I start to fade halfway into the second game.

I recently picked up MLB The Show again and I realized the pacing of the Sportscast Manager games are exactly what I wish OOTP was like.

Are there any combination of settings that could make this possible?

What are your complaints about the current pace of gameplay? FWIW, when I manage, a typical nine-inning game runs about 10 minutes. How long do your games take to play?

I wouldn't know how to put it into words. ADHD is biggest guess? I know that the speed of at bats in Sportscast Manager, accompanied with the second and a half pause before going into the next batter or next inning are what I love. The presentation as well, where it's just a couple dots running the bases while a text box tells me what's happening.

I prefer to:

1. Only play out games from the 7th inning onward. That allows you to make the majority of important decisions without having to go through everything.

2. Let the computer make non substitution strategy decisions. This may 100% not be your thing but stealing and so on has this weird thing where even though the game generates results via one pitch mode (that is, holistically, on a per PA basis) but those strategies do happen on a pitch to pitch basis, and the game doesn’t really take into account the giant malus to hitting you get IRL on two strike counts and definitely doesn’t have the AI react to what you’re doing if you’re cheesing the game by, for example, taking every other pitch. Ideally there are counts you generally don’t steal on and hit and runs classically come usually on 1-0 or 2-1 counts but the game doesn’t really do that. So… I just allow the AI to take care of that and I just watch in one pitch mode.
