How do you handle inflated offense?
What do you do when your league has become too offense heavy? I have attempted to correct things with the yearly modifiers and met only slight success. Perhaps the changes I made were not extreme enough. I suspect things may just be stuck as they are now that so many superstar level players have developed, but thought it would be worth asking.

If you’re playing out into the future, then picking a year and auto recalling the ratings based on that year would probably be the way to go. I’m not sure I’d choose a year too far in the past - even if you chose, say, 1991, the huge difference in K rates means that players and pitchers will perform drastically differently. But like 2015, sure. If you set it to auto recalc on Opening Day the game will sim the season 3 times and adjust the modifiers accordingly each time.

I choose 1962. It's the first year of expansion ball in the NL. 300-strikeout seasons by pitchers are pretty uncommon but can happen, as are 50-homer seasons by hitters. Base stealers do well, too. I like it. |

If that’s what you want to do going forward in the year 2030 or whatever, then by all means go ahead. Some would call these kinds of wholesale, single season changes to be immersion breaking. It’s your game, play it how you want, just be aware of the consequences.
