Hints file with Moby Dick quotes
Several versions ago I went through the hints file and replaced the ones I don't like (such as the Bob Uecker "capital letter" quote, and a few other sexist ones), and added a whole chapter of Moby Dick, plus some of the Extracts section. If this is something that you would also want, it is uploaded here.

Cool. I like your style. Although it would have been better if you got rid of all the stupid Jerry Coleman quotes. I once started to go through them and categorize them on what I wanted to keep and what I wanted to trash, but I gave up.
If you could pick other books to quote from, which would you pick?

Due to your interest, I have gone back through the file* and deleted more things.
I also added three "baseball-related" quotes from older literature which I like: "...it was not very wonderful that Catherine, who had by nature nothing heroic about her, should prefer cricket, base ball, riding on horseback, and running about the country at the age of fourteen, to books..." Jane Austen, Northanger Abbey, published 1818 "Chaos umpire sits, And by decision more embroils the fray, By which he reigns; next him high arbiter Chance govern all." John Milton, Paradise Lost, Book II "Were it but Me that gained the Height — Were it but They, that failed! How many things the Dying play Might they but live, they would!" Emily Dickinson, poem 1015 *I work from home |

It was the Mccarver quotes that bother me. Maybe because I can hear his voice delivering them

I realize I'm spoiled getting to listen to Dan Schulman on a regular basis.
