Alternate name for World Series
I have a fictional dynasty with fictional city names. After 30 seasons, I'm going to be adding a separate league to the dynasty with the real MLB teams. My fictional league's championship series is called the Pro Cup. My plan is to have the champions of the two leagues meet in a championship series, a true World Series. So I need to rename the MLB World Series. I was thinking of using Fall Classic or Babe Ruth Cup. If anyone else has any ideas of what to rename the MLB championship, I'd like to hear your ideas.

I like historical series names... YMMV... Here are some that were used:
1884: "World’s Championship Series" and "The Championship of the United States" 1885: "The Championship of America," "the Championship of the World," and "the Base Ball Championship of the United States" 1887-1893: "The Dauvray Cup" 1894-1897: "Temple Cup" 1900: "Chronicle-Telegraph Cup" You could pretty much go with any newspaper name ("Times," "Herald," "Tribune"...) and the words "Cup" and/or "Series." Or you could go national with it: "The USA Today Cup" ![]() Before being called "The World Series" the fall classic for many years was referred to slightly differently, as "The World's Series"... The PCL and International League have at times awarded "The Governor's Cup" to their winners... I guess if you were to use of one of these "Cups" you might want to add - like the NHL does - the word "Finals" (Stanley Cup Finals)... or maybe add "Championship Series." "Temple Cup Championship Series." Heck, even though MLB's title series is called the World Series, the winner gets (since 1967; named as such since 1985) "The Commissioner's Trophy." So there's that, but it's kinda boring. ("Commissioner's Cup" has a better ring to it.) You could go simple, like the NBA does: "MLB Finals" The NFL has the Super Bowl, so maybe Super Series? (Nah) Maybe something like "The AL-NL Championship Series." Or "The Leagues' Championship Series." Or "AL-NL Clash." Or "Clash of Leagues!" And you already thought of "Fall Classic." How about "Fall Classic Series"? Probably nothing all that good here, but maybe something that'll help you come up with something else

Since you say it's a fictional world, I'd say name it after a ruler or benefactor, or a superstar from a past league, or the person who invented baseball in your world.

Thanks for the ideas. I think I'll name the MLB championship after one of my favorite musicians or tv show / movie characters.

I setup a fictional United States Baseball League (USBL) with a Northern League (NL) and a Southern League (SL). Our championship game is called the Mason-Dixon Series (trophy)
