New OOTP 23 public beta patch (version 23.2.52) available! Updated May 2!

Update May 2: We have updated the public beta to build number 23.2.52. It fixes some bugs, the changelist and the download links below have been updated. The Steam beta should update automatically after you restart the Steam client. This is supposed to be the build that launches officially tomorrow, so give it a try!

Important: This patch is only for OOTP 23 versions which were purchased directly from us or resellers who use our version. It is also available via the Steam client with the public password below.
It is NOT compatible with the Mac OSX AppStore or Epic version!

Hi everybody!

We have been working hard on the game, including Perfect Team, and we are close to releasing an update. So here is a new public beta, version 23.2.51.

Perfect Team Info: This version gives access to the public beta version of Perfect Team, which was restarted so all teams from the earlier beta have been wiped clean, but you will get some extra packs and PP to play around with. There are no PP purchases available in the beta, and once the beta ends and PT is officially launched on May 3, all teams will be reset and everybody starts from scratch.

Use this at your own risk! Please back up important league files before loading them in this beta. This patch is compatible with the previous patch for online leagues - exports will work between versions, however both clients and the commish need to update to benefit from the online league fixes.

How to access the beta on Steam:

• Quit OOTP 23 if it's running.
• Open Steam client -> Library
• Right click on Out of the Park Baseball 23
• Click on "Properties" at the bottom of the menu
• Click on the beta tab. Here, enter the following code / password: ootp23betapt
• Click on "Check code"
• Open the beta pull-down and select "publicbeta".
• Close the Steam client (Steam menu -> Exit)
• Open the client again. It should then download the beta build.

Update Info for our webstore customers: To apply the update, simply download the setup file and install it over your current installation. There is no need to uninstall or unlicense your current copy! However, you should quit the game before installing it, of course. Updates always contain all the changes from previous updates. Saved games are compatible between different versions.

Here's a PC installer (Fastspring) that installs into a single folder, which is useful for external HDs for example. Or for creating a second test install of the game, so you can try the patch out without the risk of messing up your main install of the game if something is wrong in the patch:

The randomness of card pack contents seems broken. I opened ~15 diamond packs and got 2x Luis Robert, 2x Liam Hendriks, 3x Acuna Jr., 2x Aaron Judge among other duplicates. Even got the same player twice in a regular pack a few times.

Sadly i can't find an option to show how many duplicates i have of each card.

It's not broken, it's just that the algorithm means you mostly pull Live cards, but there are only ~25 or so Live diamonds in total. So it's not unexpected in the least to get some duplicates.

Just playing around with the new version in beta ... when opening the Gold and Diamond packs from the missions, I had a lot of packs without the appropriate level card in them. So a gold pack would not have a gold card but would glow gold in the background for a silver. Similarly, I had diamond packs without a diamond card that glowed blue in the background.

Looks like while the player history issue was fixed, the Rays are still not showing up in the History Index as AL Champions in 2008 and 2020.

Bug. I started my first team but since the pack opening screen froze a couple times I exited out of the game and restarted with many packs still to open.

No matter how I try I cannot get back into that team. It says No Team Found after log in I am sure due to no team ever being set up. Pretty sure if this were live it would require a dev reset. Ty.

Patsy Donovan is an 89 but is showing an overall of 95. His rating look commensurate with a Gold not diamond. It was the diamond card in a diamond pack. Same for LIVE Gallo. Assuming this is common if you did not reset your cache lol.

New patch has not helped. The game still freezes on opening. Have tried to delete reinstall uninstall and still froze screen with a quivering ball. Never had so much trouble with the game till now. Extremely frustrating.

Game opened fine for me. The only issues I see are some PT ratings don't match the card art rating. Also, at least one Unsong Hero still exists.

The Unsong Heros for sure is fixed, you'll just need to reset your card cache. For the mismatched ratings/art resetting cache should fix most of these, but there may still be a few more mismatches that we'll update in the course of the next few days.

How do I reset/clear the card cache??

When doing a live start, the PItcher Stamina setting gets set to "normal" now, which produces SP inning totals that are way too high. Previously this defaulted to "very low."
