New 3d visuals

MLB The Show 22 is slated to launch in just a few days, but it’s not the only MLB-licensed game that will launch during the month of April. Com2us’ Out of the Park Baseball 23 has been officially confirmed, and the South Korean-based publisher announced on March 22 that it will be released next month on PC.

Com2us has slated Out of the Park Baseball 23 (OOTP 23), the latest game in the simulation-based franchise, to be released on April 22 of this year. Per the publisher, OOTP 23 will feature brand new 3D visuals, new customization options, and in-game tutorials that will “appeal to rookies and veterans alike.”

I can't wait to see what improvements were made to 3-D. Thanks to improvements in the 3-D part of this game I play the majority of my games out now.

Yes!

It would be cool if the jerseys have at least numbers on them and the pants look like baseball pants rather than glorified Khakis. It would be cool if you could choose the style to hike the pants to show the socks or keep them long.

I feel like we're setting this bar really low, heh, but one thing I also want to see is CUSTOMIZEABLE PANTS I CAN CUSTOMIZE MY OWN PANTS AT HOME BUT NOT IN THE GAME IS IT REALLY EVEN A GAME IF I CAN'T CUSTOMIZE MY PANTS

Like, more than just "show stirrups"; I'd like the ability to at least choose between using grey as the road color vs. one of the team colors and then adding things like pinstripes or the single stripe down the side look that was popular in the 70s and 80s. Also, in honor of the White Sox in the late 70s, shorts (I can live without shorts).

On a harder-to-implement-but-I-still-want-it note, if not this version than in some version in the near future... I'd love an assortment of batting stances. They don't necessarily need to have an impact on the game engine (though that'd be neat too) but I want to have some guys coming in with a crouch or open or closed or weirdo Jeff Bagwell I'm gonna poop stances.

It’s funny to me how it seems the priorities of what people want or expect in a new version are so vastly different than what they used to be. I was always one who wanted GM related improvement…whether it be finances, roster rules, scouting & development etc..

I’m having a difficult time wrapping my head around the fact people seem more concerned with the appearance of uniform pants…which to me at least is a long way from what the original premise of OOTP was to start.

Not that I know any other posters personally, but I am not sure everyone publishes their wish list with the expectation that those wishes will come true - I have seen enough posts from enough people, over the years, to know when someone is being a little more tongue-in-cheek with their requests than others are.

For instance - if we can choose caps and jerseys and what-have-you, why NOT pants or socks?

Personally, I wish there was a VERY easy way to create my own team logos. The basic ones are terribly outdated. Then again, a few years ago, I wished for a particular feature that was actually implemented (indicating what you want back in a trade when shopping a player, so you don’t have to flip through a bunch of SP you don’t want when you need a 2B), so one never knows. I imagine Markus and Da Crew read everything and can prioritize.

All in all, I would rather people be interested in always making things better, even if that means some oddball request that is at least meaningful to them, than complete apathy. As soon as the entire audience says, “This game is perfect. Change nothing.” then something is quite likely very wrong with the audience.

I feel the same as you. So many visual improvements are being made in the game that I feel the GM only players are starting to see less improvements. On the PC version I don’t play games out so everything from stadium builder to 3d visuals don’t matter to me. I want more contract options. 3 team trades maybe? Contractions? Owner mode? More scouting options.

Now I will say I do love playing my games out on OOTP Go. So any visual improvements are welcome there

I have grown to become quite fond of the 3-D games so am hoping there will be some stuff that further assists with the immersion.

Specifically, I want to see some of the angles fixed and camera cuts to improve.

Two points to this though:

1. The graphics team and the engine team aren't the same people. I guess at some level there's a question of resource allocation but adding stuff like this into 3D has little to no impact on the guys working on the engine tweaking finances/scouting/et al.

2. Honestly, I thought I was in this exact same boat - when 3D came out I thought it'd be fine for more visually-oriented people but I personally was just fine with OOTP's history as a text-based baseball sim. I did really like and appreciate FaceGen and the extra level of immersion that seeing a guy's face and his team's uniform lent to things. Then I started using it... and I went out and grabbed some of Silvam14's amazing historical stadia... and I went out to get Silvam14's uniforms with numbers on them (side note: that's another thing I'd love to see in the game - names and uniform #s)... and it was like playing Microleague Baseball when I was a kid except OOTP is miles more intricate than MB ever was. OOTP doesn't get any extra money for this of course but I feel like I've gotten far more deeply immersed into my current dynasty than I ever have. And as they've improved 3D it's somehow gotten even more immersive.

To each their own of course but man... 3D in particular was a truly massive "don't knock it 'till you've tried it" feature for me.

I still love justafan's logo maker - but I'm so old-school, my logos are still in the Captain Walrus circle style (if anyone remembers those). There are png tools on the web that will make parts of the logo transparent so, once you google up an image, you can use it and tweak it as you like.

Over the years, I've let my daughter name the minor league teams whenever the league expands and then it's my job to make the best logo I can for the team based on those ideas. My favorite is between the Plymouth Rocks and the Clippers. Never use an in-game generated logo again, mate. Find the justafan sticky

Not sure if anyone else noticed, but when they upgraded the 3d stadiums in ootp22, they were directly ported over from the com2us 9 innings baseball series.

I'm really hoping the long range plan is to port the in game 3d pbp engine from "9 innings baseball" into ootp. I would be more than happy with those level of graphics.

Same here which is why this is my least anticipated OOTP in a decade or so. I will probably preorder due to online league play.
