Topps 1981

Below is my version of Topps' 1981 card set. This set has been missing for ages because it uses slanted text (which can't be done in an xml file). So I created a card image for each team, with the text already placed in the cap. Text quality is a bit hit-or-miss, but I figure this is better than nothing.

Because the image files for some reason ended up pretty big, there was no point in putting everything into a zip file (because of site size limits, it would have taken about a dozen zip files for everything) ... so each team's image is pasted below. Save 'em the old-fashioned way; right-lick on the image and save it to your hard drive.

The one zip file here contains the All-Star banners, the images for the position text, and xmls for a regular and an all-star card.

The position text on the caps had to be white, which means that the 1978 Orioles and Blue Jays caps don't quite work ... but I uploaded the class versions of them anyway. The Pirates card here is a normal card, but in real life Topps used a pillbox card image; couldn't figure out how to do that.

Place the xml files in your bbcards templates directory (for OOTP22, it's Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 22\bb_cards\templates\ootp22\), and place the images file into your bbcards images directory (for OOTP22, it's Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 22\bb_cards\templates\ootp22\images).

All of the templates have a line in them that uses my team backgrounds file (which can be found here: https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...d.php?t=328973). If you want to take the team backgrounds out, edit the xml file by taking out the token with [%TEAM_NICK]_[%RANDOM_NUMBER].png.

Very nice. You've been busy.

fhomess is the one who gave me the idea how to do slanted text and other things with his 1965 set. My all time favorite set because that's the first year I collected baseball cards.
A computer wipe out and I lost all my work. Disappointed, I don't do them anymore.

Youch. I'd love a real good 1965 set ... been thinking of taking a shot at it myself.

I've uploaded a combined zip file here: 1981 Topps

I made a few small tweaks:
1. Adjusted the player image up as I was getting a gap between it and the card border (Mac issue?)
2. Adjusted the width of the player image to get a better aspect ratio... this gives a little more background space above the players head/cap.
3. Removed the has_team attribute from the image element for the All-Star banner. This was causing the positions not to display on All-Star cards for me.

I also noticed there's no DH position image. If you add one I'll include it in the zip.

As for 1965, there's a version on the wiki, although since the comment is old maybe you've already found it.
