Second base?

Anyone else having trouble filling the 2b role in PT22? With the new training rules, it seems harder to have a decent 2b (besides Jackie). Prior versions most of us just trained a great SS for 2b.

Historical players have limited training, but Live players can train for many positions.

Tatis ended up being my 2b for now, with very few other options.

It is a bit thin at this point. The Whitaker (80) card holds its own for a while and the Ryne Sandberg (89) seems solid. It will be a focus for development in the BAL missions.

Well, I've been using Betts as my backup second basemen...so yeah. Right there with you on that.

Agreed Whitaker is a solid card. I've personally be using adam Kennedy. I like how he plays

I am using Adam Kennedy at second base too. I had him in a previous version of PT.

I found a George Cutshaw card when shopping the AH that has worked out pretty well for me. good power/speed combo who has put up a 30/30 season once already.

he's quickly becoming one of my favorite players.

Jean segura was my 2b and won MVP of iron league despite being my teams lowest rated player lol. He seems to do really well from what I’ve seen

using SE Kennedy here... in his 4th season with the club... prior 3 seasons he's picked up 2 gold gloves, a platinum stick award, and won a batting title (.351 average)

I'm pretty new to PT, but I've been using SE Pedroia, 85 value
No awards but his OPS+ has been 122 and 157 in my two stints in a bronze league

I put Vidal Brujan there. He's been good for 1,5 of the 2,5 years I've had him. His DEF ins't that bad either.

I pulled a Snuffy Stirnweiss the first few days and I've been using him. He has done a good but not great job so far. Definitely the hardest position to deal with, mostly because you can get 3B (Pendleton), SS (Trammell), 1B (Garciaparra), C (Posada/Campanella) and outfield positions (Wilson/Slaughter/Dykstra) filled fairly easily through collection missions at a serviceable level for a while.

Ryne Sandberg Gold is the way to go. He is better than the Diamond version

I've been running Future Legend Madrigal. Fields decently, hits for a high average, steals some bases.

Won MVP this week in gold.
