PT 22 Worst seasons
Been playing PT from the beginning, I would say this is my worst season ever, not one team but 2 out 3 I have in PT22 had the worst start off all time.

I would say that five 20 game losers is quite an achievement. You should get 10k PP just for that.

Agree with Trainwreck that 5 20 game losers (and they did not pitch that bad--offense must have been horrible) is a true achievement.

I saw lots of teams - well, not a *lot* necessarily, but like 1 every 2 or 3 seasons - do this in 21 before I quit, and the short answer is that most of the teams that end up with records like this are tanking already in order to accrue PPs in leagues well below their team's talent level. The last thing the game needs to give out is *more* PPs for this behavior.
I've gone so far as to say that if your team runs scored or allowed per game is above or below a certain threshold, you no longer earn PPs until it gets there. This wouldn't eliminate tanking entirely but it would at least make those teams somewhat competitive while they went down the tiers, and in the process would mean that they don't have as much PP to spend coming back up so their teams would be ever so slightly less dominant on the upswing.

That's super weird. Even with a really anemic offense, those pitchers should have gotten you more wins than that. One of my teams is in the same Rookie league (and division) as your Ponies team now, and I think you have a better than average lineup for this level + most of those players were already on your team last year in Stone league.
It's insane that 88 Champ Summers and 96 Pie Traynor would hit .184 and .201 respectively at the Stone level, but that's what happened somehow. That (great) Traynor card had a -6.9 WAR season at Stone... unbelievable. He struck out 177 times with an Avoid K's rating of 98. This actually seems bugged to me... or cursed. Hope things improve for you!

Something is definitely weird here, as the aforementioned Traynor card somehow accrued -47.5ZR (almost -5 WAR) on defense, while playing his natural position (3B, with defense rating 85.) I can also see the card started 158 games last year, and is 10 out of 10 games started this year as well. I never guessed fatigue could impact performance by this much (especially with the occasional day off in the schedule), but you probably found the cause for the bad performance. OP: do you have your backup position players set to start once every so often, or at least 'If Starter tired'? If they are set to 'Never', things will go badly.

Not 19 win badly. Position player fatigue in OOTP isn't *that* penalizing.

Agreed... but it can easily explain poor defense for highly rated player. I'm just acknowledging that his screenshot says as much by omission as by what's being presented. Unless it's the glitch of the century, I don't see any team winning only 19 games unless something is intentionally amiss.

I have to know the whole story...how did you manage to be THIS bad?
Usually I'd tell people to pack it in and play something else for being this hopeless, but something seems a bit off here. You don't do that bad in the first full week without some shenanigans going on. How did this thing REALLY go down? We're all dyin' to know. ![]() Last edited by Magus978; 04-05-2021 at 08:32 PM. |
