Holy...

I just pulled a Legend Maddux. I'm in complete shock. What do I do. I'm in Silver around .500 and can get better at some positions. Do I hold and play or do I sell!

I say when in doubt play. Can always sell if you change your mind, but you can not unsell it. I do not see that card losing its value over time.

Play. You're going to sell him to, what? Become a .500 team at Gold?

Keep the historical perfects.

Exactly...by the time you get to a higher level you'll wish you had him.

How much could you potentially get for that card?
I'd play him.

This.

I have a perfect King Kelly on one of my teams and the team as a whole sucks and I know I could improve it by selling him off, but then what? They'll just suck at a different level. It's always nice to visit the team and still see him being awesome.

The only thing is my team is a theme team and he doesn't fit the theme so I might sell him to get another great player who does fit the theme.

Sell him. You can get five 60k players for him. That will give you a nice foundation when get to gold level. Five good players better than one superstar.

Disagree, the live mission reward cards can keep you in gold. Five 60k players won't help you succeed in diamond. But, since it's Maddux, and you would have the 99, maybe sell and buy ONE different superstar like Mays.

jnierob7, what Bailey said sums it up in just a couple sentences. I'd sell the 99 Maddux if you have him. While a starting pitcher only is a factor every 5th day during the regular season, if you start making the playoffs consistently, having an ace of this quality when you move to a 4 man rotation during the playoffs is super important.

That is a card that you will want at all levels so I say to keep it. There are some other cards which don’t perform well at higher levels but you can get a top of points for them. Those I would sell to build a base for an improving team.

This is mostly very bad advice. SELL SELL SELL

There's a VERY high chance that the Maddux is the FOTF Braves coming up and your card will drop 60-70% over seven days if it does.

I wouldn't say a "VERY high chance" considering the existence of three high end Maddux cards in the game already...

Yeah, seeing how the FOTF has played out and also knowing they will be dropping some other high end cards down the line, I would definitely lower those percentages of Maddux being the Braves FOTF next week.

I would hedge my bets on lifelong Atlanta Brave Chipper Jones, especially since 3B are so few in this game unless you train them to play the position. He had some monster years with the Braves so I expect his card will have very high contact, gap power, HR power, eye and probably around 80-95 avoid strikeout. Defense would be the only thing keeping him from being one of the most dominant 3B in PT this year when that card comes along.

One of the 5 remaing is a starting pitcher (as was said on the stream)

SEA - Likely Griffey
Baltimore - Almost Certainly Ripken
St. Louis -Id bet Pujols
Indians -
Atlanta - ???

The odds are pretty high its Da Professa'

Keep him, he will probably make you 10k+ points per week if you play him.

Don't discount Glavine being thrown out there as the FOTF for Atlanta either. I still think Chipper though because the Maddux card that is out there already is one of the best cards in the game already (unlike Babe Ruth who will no doubt be a part of a massive reward mission set or pack card release because his best card is not nearly as good as some of the FOTF cards). Not to mention they could go with a FOTF Bob Feller with the Indians, though it could go to Jim Thome as well. Yeah, I think Pujols is a pretty solid bet for the Cards, but they have a lot of players that could be tossed out there. I can only imagine what a FOTF Bob Gibson would look like. Kind of hard for anyone to beat out Ripken for Baltimore FOTF and of course The Kid is forever linked to the Mariners.

Exactly. There is a guy named Hank Aaron who seems ripe for a FOTF card.

Henry Aaron would not be considered? Or do they not go that far back?

And Eddie Mathews would be another 3B canidate and has a better career WAR than Jones.
